DVDP: existing profile in the online with no history?
« on: May 07, 2010, 09:45:49 PM »
The weirdest thing happened. I added a DVD boxset to my collection and when entering the UPC, DVDP downloaded some basic info and a crappy temp cover. So, that means it's in the online, right? I update the profile, submit it but don't see any history. Is that possible that the original contributor isn't mentioned. My contribution is the first apparently so I wonder where that initial data came from.  :hmmmm: Anyone seen that before?
The profile is UPC 4988101112623 (Spider-Man Toei TV series Box-set)
As you can see, there was already data in the online but no trace of where it came from. It's the first time I see something like that ...

Maybe it is one of those profiles which Ken migrated over from 2.5 (after he won the legal battle and had the ownership of the 2.5 database again).

I've seen that quite a few times and Tom is correct. I've forgotten the "why" Gerri sent me a note, but she confirmed this.

Ahhh, now I see. So far I had only been profiling my Blu-rays (which I presume are all post 2.5) but now that we have custom categories and I'm finally getting caught up with profiling my blu's, I've started adding DVD's as well so it's probably like you both described: a set that was already there pre-2.5.

Thanks for clearing that up!
