WHAT I THINK OF IT

The movie is so bad that I only watched the first 15 minutes.  This review is based that.

Audio:
Since this is mostly a dialog movie there isn't much to say about sound.  The quality is good although I don't really see the need for 2 types of 5.1 soundtracks.

Score: 4/5

Video:

I found that the colors are bit fade.  It makes it look a bit like an older movie.  I cannot criticize the quality of the picture itself however which is well within what most would consider acceptable.

Score: 4/5

Extras:
Extras are somewhat limited.  It only contains a few trailers including the one for the original theatrical release.  It wasn't a very good one, grossly trying to use the cast to attract the viewers.

Score: 1/5

Movie:
Now here comes the brick.  This is one of the most boring movie I've seen.  To say the truth I couldn't watch more than 15 minutes of it which is really rare for me.  That says a lot because I'm usually an easy public.  McGuckian is clueless at using the impressive cast and amazing sum of talent at hand to compensate for a very poor script.  No movie before has ever made such actors/actresses as Bates, DeNiro or Abraham look like untalented debutants.  The movie doesn't flow smoothly, it grossly jumps from one scene to another, taking place in different times at different places, meant to be in sequence but without links.  It sometimes made me wonder if they cut every 2nd scene to shorten the movie.  The dialogs are made of long sentences, very lyric in type but mostly quickly spoken, without any emotion as though each and every actor couldn't wait to see the end of this shooting in the hope that no one would ever see the movie.

This is a bad movie which I can't recommend.

Cast is what made me pick up the movie in the first place.  Bates, Abraham, DeNiro, Byrne, I thought "This is risk free, it can't be entirely bad".  How wrong that was !
