Fear, Itself
« on: June 29, 2008, 01:53:17 AM »
After that other thread I decided to finally watch a couple episodes of Fear, Itself to see what I think of it. I can't remember everything I said in the first thread that I lost... but will put my thoughts all the same.

1. The Sacrifice
On the lam from the authorities, four criminals find themselves held up at a decrepit fort inhabited by three alluring women who hold a deadly secret.

My Thoughts:
Well... definitely should have been much better then it was. Yes there was parts of it that I enjoyed... but over-all felt more disappointment then anything else. I was thrilled that the first episode would deal with Vampires... which is my favorite horror sub-genre. But it just wasn't as good as it should have been. My main problem... they went straight to the obvious for the scares. And that just don't work... if it is the obvious... it is expected... if it is expected... it just isn't scary!

2. Spooked
Harry, a former cop turned private eye, is hired to spy on a woman's husband. While staking out a haunted house, Harry finds himself confronted by the demons from his past.

My Thoughts:
This one was much... MUCH  better in my opinion. This was very good... didn't go for the obvious like the first one did. An episode that I enjoyed so much that the hour went by in no time at all... and for me that is a definite sign that what I am watching is good... when it goes by so quick you are not aware so much time has past. This episode was definitely well done!  Hopefully the rest will be as good.
