Here's Sheldon's official rulebook for episode 2.08's "Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock"

Are these clips representative of the show? I watched the one you included and then another one (a girl doing some kind of Trivial Pursuit with the guys), then I gave up. IMHO, this is as bad as Friends and similar shows, just a bit more geeky maybe.

Bad? :o

But yes, I would qualify them as representative.

Basically I think the comparison is fine. If you didn't like Friends and think "geeking it up" could help then you probably won't like this. I enjoy Friends in small enough doses; it's a good diversion. Big Bang Theory is not intended to be thought provioking or art, it's entertainment, great entertainment as far as I am concerned.

According to a german page, TBBT was prolonged by two years.

Two and a Half Men even got three more years.
