I usually buy from 30 to 50 DVDs / Blu-rays every month (won't bother listing them here).
Once upon a time I used to pay full price as each new disc was released....these days, I wait a while and seldom pay over 5 bucks a DVD. Every film I want to get ends up in the 5 dollar bin (eg: Walmart).
There are also discount stores (eg: Dollarrama) where DVDs/Blu-rays are on sale for 2-3 dollars (new, shrink wrapped, no hole punched through UPC code). I also haunt fleamarkets where great deals can be had...last week picked up used, but in pristine condition, Andrej Wajda's War Trilogy from Criterion for 6 bucks (2 bucks per disc)....SRP $79.95.

Speaking of the Walmart 5 dollar bin...last month picked up Sony's The Ultimate Three Stooges Collection box set - 20 discs, 190 remastered films for 5 bucks (no hole punched through UPC code). I couldn't believe it...even asked the clerk to scan it and make sure it was not a mistake....yup she says, 5 dollars.

Hulot,

Do you have your collection posted somewhere? I'd like to take a look at your collection.

Sorry, Kathy, no I don't. I have been using DVD Profiler for about a year now, but only have a portion of my collection loaded/added...all my entries are manual so it takes time to do the whole lot. I have a fair sized collection which includes some of everything : art house, mainstream, classics, modern, every genre known....silents to 2014 releases....everything from Ingmar Bergman to Bugs Bunny.....I don't think my collection, however, is quite as big as yours... :)
