My Dad will be extremely happy with number one. He did his full service in the bomb disposal and did long tours of Iraq during the Gulf. He now works in the private defence sector and he seriously ripped The Hurt Locker apart. I'm really glad U-571 was included which is the biggest pile of crap war movie EVER.

The list seems to be a Top 10, making Hurt Locker the most inaccurate...? Also, I think they mistake factual errors (like U-571) with artistic license and bending the truth to enhance the film's effect. So, if it is indeed in order, I disagree.

I think U571 should have been top of that pile! I adored Hurt Locker, but I never assumed it was accurate, or more importantly, supposed to be. Look at it from a certain angle; the main character is an adrenaline junkie and too ridiculous to be real. I saw it as a very clever extension of the action genre that essentially put Martin Riggs in Iraq. That created a sharp relief with the reality of the situation and hey presto, you have a satirical cartoon action flick masquerading as realism. Very clever.
