Jurassic Park 4 (2014)
« on: January 12, 2013, 12:13:59 AM »
Hell yes. Officially announced today. Jurassic Park 4 3D with a cinema date of June 13th 2014. Spielberg is priducing, script by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver and it will be native 3D for those who care.

I never thought I'd say this, but a JP movie in 3D? I'm excited. I've enjoyed all three so far and think The Lost World gets unfairly hammered.

I *might* see it in 3D but probably not .. 3d seldom floats my boat.

But I will definitely see it.  Like you I really have enjoyed all 3 of the previous films AND i think The Lost World: Jurassic Park was a very fun film.  And I loved William H. Macy and Téa Leoni in Jurassic Park III.  All great films.
Thank you
David

I agree, even if not good films, even 2 and 3 are fun to watch for me too.

I also share your sentiments about 3D. Even Kermode said the 3D in Life Of Pi was acceptable, he didn't mind it, but I found I didn't see hardly any of it (except the first 15 minutes, where it was brilliant). Life Of Pi and The Hobbit were the only two films I actively seemed out in 3D, normally I prefer 2D.

I love this serjavascript:void(0);ies and can't wait to see another.

I'm not a fan of 3D - I had lasix surgery to get rid of glasses!

The only film that has tempted me is The Hobbit because I've read a bit about how it was filmed. Are you required to wear 3D glasses to watch it?

I too really enjoyed Jurassic Park 1-3. And i am looking forward to the 4th.
Interesting to see how they will do this one. And for me personally, it will be
cool to check it out in 3D, to see the efects =)

Well, they don't force you...

If you watch a 3D film without the glasses you see two slightly offset images on the screen. It would be better to seek out a 2D screening...

I saw The Hobbit in std 2d and really liked it.  Not sure there is any *real* reason to see it in 3d (personal opinion of course).  I did see Avatar in 3d for its breadth and scenery.  True 'The Hobbit' has the same but it is very dark which might obscure some of it.

if you see it in 3d let me know.
Thank you

I enjoyed the first, thought the second was terrible, and wasn't a big fan of the third. I may not even give this one a try.
I have a collection.
It can be found here.
No need to check it often.
I update it only twice a year!

I really enjoyed the first film the second was pretty good.  Isn't that the same swimming pool and house from Transformers?  The third one was a piece of shite and was just a way to collect money on the franchise.  I am actually sad that there will be a 4th.

I saw the second one in the theater...one of those dinosaurs about gave me a heart attack.
That movie made me jump enough without the potential of it looking like one of them was going to smack me in the face.  I've seen all the movies..they are entertaining. I'd probably see a 4th one..just not sure I'd try 3D.

I don't mind 3D at times.. Most of the ones I've seen in 3D haven't been that...great.  They have looked ok, but usually nothing really amazing.  The best 3D has been in animated movies.  Some of those have been some really cool looking effects.

Colin Trevorrow has been announced as director. So far he's only directed Safety Not Guaranteed which I haven;t seen but looks like a hell of a jump budget wise!
