This Means War

I wasn't really sure about seeing this one at first, but ended up deciding to see it when I had the chance.

FDR and Tuck are best friends and CIA agent partners.  They get stuck on desk duty when a mission goes wrong.  Tuck uses the time to sign up for an internet dating site.  He ends up going out with Lauren, a woman still getting over a breakup.  Her friend Trish signed her up for the site.  She also meets FDR and ends up dating both men.  When they discover that they are both seeing her, they say they will let her decide who she is more interested in, but they get competitive and start trying to sabotage each other.

My expectations weren't that high before seeing the movie, so maybe that is why I ended up liking it overall.  It does get silly at times and certain things are predictable, but it is also fun and entertaining.  The plot could be stronger, but it does manage to work.  Some of what happens isn't that believable and the guys go to some rather extreme measures to spy on each other when they are with Lauren.  Some action turns up in a few scenes, mostly because of the spy stuff popping up and causing a complication.

The characters are mostly interesting and likable overall.  They could all be developed a bit more.  The acting is fine.

I enjoyed this movie overall.  It does have some issues, but it is a decent romantic comedy with spy movie elements tossed into the mix.  It isn't a movie for everyone.

I did get a longer review posted at Epinions.
She chooses one. And IIRC the other one gets a happy end (no no that kind! ), too.
Thanks.

EDIT:
Wow, you're up early!

EDIT:
Is the setting for the time difference to Taiwan wrong? It seems to me the time is set through the country setting, but it's an hour off to my actual time here. Maybe because Daylight Savings Time is taken into account, which we don't have here?

Did you want a more specific answer than the one Karsten gave you?

No, what he said was all I cared about. Thanks for asking.

Dragonfire

No problem. :)

The movie ended up being more fun than I thought it would be.

You can set the time offset in your profile information. :)

I just had to go change mine..it was an hour off.
Does that setting take into account the time changes in the spring and fall?

Jimmy

See you made me check and guess what... it's one hour off too

Dragonfire

I actually noticed that the other night, but I didn't bother to look for where to fix it.  This just reminded me to do that.  I'm almost positive that it was correct at some point.

Jimmy

Probably before we lost one hour of sleep in april

Dragonfire

Probably.     I can add this to the list of stuff that stupid time change screws up.

Halo2

Great, another clock I have to remember to change. My wife has at least 1 clock in every room, some have multiple if you include computers, video devices, microwaves, stoves etc. I just counted 9 in my office. That doesn't include the 6-8 battery operated clock I have been given over the years. Most of them have the batteries removed and they are still correct twice a day. Of the ones that are actively being used, only about a third will auto detect the change or make it as painless as flipping a switch for +/- one hour.

At least the auto detect function makes it more painless.

Jimmy

Only my computer is autonomous enough to do that alone... the rest I've to think to do it wich happen when I woke up and what is on TV doesn't make sense compare to usually
