Also, how is it sad that I discovered a whole host of blaxploitation films after watching Jackie Brown?
Because you had no clue about something big in the seventies before a clown made a poor substitute...

That's a pathetic argument Jimmy. Everyone learns and finds out about different parts of cinema in different ways. Ways that were available to you may not be available to me (I'm to young to have seen these at the cinema). Different ways I've learnt about certain movies.
Hammer Horror - Couldn't sleep one night in my early teens and Countess Dracula was on TV.
Non-martial arts Asian cinema - After a recommendation on an audio commentary from an early HKL release.
Giallos - Some references from an article about Franco Nero in a magazine.

etc etc.

It wasn't one as I had nothing to argue about...

You asked me question and I gave you my answer, nothing more nothing less

Fair enough. Out of interest, which Tarantino movies have you seen so far?

Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown and Death Proof (the last two only on TV). See at least I watch them and I even own Reservoir Dogs two times on DVD (I like the performance of Harvey Keitel in this film).

Is Dogs the only one you like? My favourite is Jackie Brown.

Pulp Fiction a little bit too, but it is too much all over the place for my taste... I've forgot about Jackie Brown, but my guess would be that it didn't made much of an impression on me since as much as I try I can't remember anything of this film...

Plot:
The Norwegian explorer Thor Heyerdahl crossed the Pacific ocean in a balsa wood raft in 1947, together with five men, to prove that South Americans already back in pre-Columbian times could have crossed the sea and settle on Polynesian islands. After financing the trips with loans and donations they set off on an epic 101 days long trip across 8000 kilometers, while the world was waiting for the result of the trip. The film tells about the origin of the idea, the preparations and the events on the trip. Kon-Tiki was named after the Inca sun god, Viracocha, and "Kon-Tiki" is an old name for this god. Heyerdahl filmed the expedition, which later became the Acaemy award winning documentary in 1951, and wrote a book about the expedition which was translated into 70 languages and sold more than 50 millions copies around the world. Heyerdahl believed that people from South America could have settled Polynesia in pre-Columbian times...

My Review:
Well, this is the movie about the expediton that Thor Heyerdahl & did, back in the days. I've seen the documentary that he made back then. And since i heard that they was going to make a movie about the expedition aswell, i knew that was a movie that i had to watch when it came out. And now it finally came, and me and family actually watched it together. And what they did with the movie, i actually liked real good. They didnt mess up much really (something ofcourse) but not much from the original documentary. Wich was nice to see. But in some places they did some different storytelling, than actually what happend. Wich is a big no no for me (even though this is a movie) And for me, i always like a movie that is based on a true story.. And some of the actors in the movie, i was looking forward to see in action, since i havent seen much from them. And i think they did a good job with this. A good movie about the journey they've been trough together. Many important  and key moments aswell in the movie, that they had in it. (a solid plus) And the picture and quailty sound was great aswell. For me, this a highly recommanded movie to check out! I really enjoyed it from start to finish!

My Rating:
5/6
