And it had its great moments trough out. I didnt get bored. A movie that i recommand you guys to check out. Allright Sunday entertainment.

I really agree with your review of "Dante's Peak".  It isn't ground breaking or never before seen or ...  But it is very good story telling and I think the actors pull off a very good script.  The effects are good and not overwhelming to the story.
Thank you

Except for the behavior of the mother! She made me mad every time I see the movie.

I *think* the actress did a good job with the role.  Carrying lots of baggage.  I have seen her in other things and she played it totally differently
Thank you

I don't recall exactly, but I think I agree about the actress. The problem was purely poor screen writing...

Linda Hamiltion's character?  Or her character's former mother in law?  If the mother in law, she does irk me every time I watch the movie with her stupid stubbornness.  The mountain isn't going to hurt them.  Unhuh.  Sure.

My guess is you don't know this unless you live in the Northwest US ... but sometimes art does imitate life.  Harry Truman

I think I did hear at least a little about him before...forgot about that.

I know some people get stubborn when things are happening like that.  Or people who evacuate once for a hurricane and nothing really happens for their area...so they don't go the next time and we get Hurricane Sandy.  I wouldn't want to live where a hurricane might come through..or where a mountain might erupt.  I would take everything I could and get the heck out with my critters if a hurricane was possibly coming.

My Review:
So, my friends who wanted to watch the SAW movies, decided that they didnt want to watch the 3rd movie. So we jumped right to the 4th. I guess thats fair enough. I did remember some of the movie. Some returning characters. And the story is starting to take place. And you get a bigger picture of the story. And this is the most grapich movie (So far) the story is the same. But anyhow, they make it still interesting and good! Of the movies we've seen so far, this is the best by far! Looking forward to the rest! Highly recommanded ofc!

Oh, then I guess me not remembering that it's the mother in law did confuse the matter... Yes, that is who I meant.

My Review:
Being a fan of both Mr. Hitchcock's work and Mr. Hopkins work this was a must have for me. And even tho' i did enjoy the movie. And it was based on a true story. I think (personally) they could have done just a little bit more. Dont get me wrong, the story about 'how they made Psycho' one of his best films ever made was real interesting and its a must have for Hitchcock fans out there. And Mr. Hopkins did a great job (IMHO) as Mr. Hitchcock. And i did enjoy it overall. Had some great moments. But for one of the best in the movie industry i think they could have done just a bit more. When the movie was finished i found myself asking "Whats next?" But other than that a good movie. That Hitchock fans must check out.

My Review:
I remember when i first watched this one on DVD a few years ago. I really enjoyed it. Its another great Hitchcock movie! A bit different but great story. And now i wanted to check out the Blu-Ray version of it. And first of all i have to say a few words about the tranfser. I think they did a great job with it. The sound is much much better then the DVD. And the picture quality is great in this flick aswell. The movie is about some birds that suddenly starts to attack and kill random people at an island. Nasty buisness. I really like how they keep the both horror and suspence of it. Great! But there are a few things i didnt like about it. The ending was a bit out of place. And a bit too rushed IMHO. But all in all, another great Hitchcock flick! Is ofcourse highly recommanded!

The Birds is very good.  I may eventually get it on Blu-ray.  I did upgrade North by Northwest - that is still Jon's fault ;) - and it is gorgeous.

I have Hitchcock on my DVR now.  It was on HBO Saturday night.
