The Autopsy of Jane Doe
Year:
2016
Director:
Rating:
Rated R : Bloody Horror Violence, Unsettling Grisly Images, Graphic Nudity, and Language
Length:
87 Min.
Video:
Widescreen 2.40:1
Audio:
English: DTS-HD Master Audio: 5.1
Subtitles:
English, Spanish
Stars:
Brian Cox
Emile Hirsch
Ophelia Lovibond
Plot:
It's just another night at the morgue for a father (Brian Cox, Trick 'r Treat, Zodiac) and son (Emile Hirsch, Lone Survivor, Killer Joe) team of coroners, until an unidentified, highly unusual corpse arrives. Discovered buried in the basement of the home of a brutally murdered family, the young Jane Doe — eerily well-preserved and with no visible signs of trauma — is shrouded in mystery. As they work into the night to piece together the cause of her death, the two men begin to uncover the disturbing secrets of her life. Soon, a series of terrifying events make it clear: this Jane Doe may not be dead. The latest from Troll Hunter director Andre Ovredal is a scarily unpredictable, supernatural shocker that never lets up. This chiller also stars Ophelia Lovibond (Guardians Of The Galaxy) and Michael McEhatton (Game Of Thrones).

My Review:
So, i almost never write reviews anymore, but some movies is just have to say a thing or two about. Good or bad. This movie i've heard some real great things about and really enjoyed the trailer, so when i found it for under $8 it was a no brainer. And i watched the movie last night. And the movie is actually brilliant. Really loved it, the story is real simple, but holy hell. Some awesome moments trough-out. A simple but real good with some amazing spots trough-out. Its a must watch for all horror fans!

My Review:
So, Fast & The Furious has always been a guilty pleasure of mine. Always enjoyed the movies, the car chases, cool cars etc. But the latest movies has turned in to pure action movies with less and less car scenes. Still good movies, dont get me wrong. But not "a car" movie franchise anymore. Still some cool moments here and there. But for the last two movies (9/10) i hope they will go back to what they started with. Would be awesome. But all in all, its a movie you have to watch anyways. And i enjoyed it tho.

Woah, that was kinda intense and a bit different then i expected it to be.. I pre-ordered it a while back after watching the thrailer, and i found it interesting. The movie got a creepy mood trough-out the whole movie, right off the bat you know something is real wrong in a creepy good way. And then all the freaky stuff starts to happen, and the movie takes us trough some cool twists and turns i didnt see coming. For me this was a real great horror\thriller with a twisted but good story. All in all, this is a must watch! Was much better then i expected it to be! And this blurayset comes with some great extras aswell.

I liked Get Out very much when I saw it in the theater earlier this year. I expected a rather different conclusion at the end, but not getting what I expected is obviously half the fun. It had some great social commentary wrapped inside the horror film, too, which I thought was done rather well and very much a current affair.

Plot:
In the wake of JAWS (1975) audiences were treated to all number of nature-run-amok movies - from Jeff Lieberman's killer worm outing SQUIRM (1976) to the national park nightmare GRIZZLY (1976). Equally quick off-the-bat was DOGS, also unleashed in 1976, and treating terror-hungry audiences to an outbreak of canine carnage in a small California town. Featuring the thespian talents of British actor David McCallum (THE GREAT ESCAPE), the action comes thick and fast as 'man's best friend' is turned against its owner and chows down on human flesh - in the streets, in the corridors of a university and even in the shower... no one is safe from being mauled by a pack of blood thirsty four-legged fiends! Best compared to Stephen King's gut-wrencher CUJO (1983), few fans of 42nd Street ferocity will deny that DOGS is a B-movie masterpiece that you would be barking mad to miss!

Plot:
Shot outside Pittsburgh on a shoestring budget, by a band of filmmakers determined to make their mark, Night of the Living Dead, directed by horror master George A. Romero, is a great story of independent cinema: a midnight hit turned box-office smash that became one of the most influential films of all time. A deceptively simple tale of a group of strangers trapped in a farmhouse who find themselves fending off a horde of recently dead, flesh-eating ghouls, Romero's claustrophobic vision of a late-1960s America literally tearing itself apart rewrote the rules of the horror genre, combining gruesome gore with acute social commentary, and quietly broke ground by casting a black actor (Duane Jones) in its lead role. Stark, haunting, and more relevant today than ever, Night of the Living Dead is back.

History movies or movies based on a true story ... Well, I can think of a couple (!)
Thare are, of course, tons of movies about World War II. I know you have
Max Manus
, but I don't see
The Heroes of Telemark
in your collection. Sure it is a bit fictionalized, but it is after all an important piece of Norwegian history, so ... ?
I don't see either of the big "Bridge" movies;
A Bridge Too Far
and
The Bridge at Remagen
. The latter is kind of interesting, because the history
of
the movie is almost as fascinating as the history
in
the movie.
A movie that I would definitely recommend is
The Missiles of October
about the Cuba crisis in 1962, or the remake
Thirteen Days
with Kevin Costner.
If you're interested in older US history, there is always
The Alamo
with John Wayne (or the remake with Billy Bob Thornton, although I personally prefer the original). I saw
The Alamo
on my 14th birthday and was really hooked on the story, so I may be a bit biased on that one. I also had the good fortune of being sent to San Antonio on business trips when I worked for Datapoint (which was headquartered there), so I had a chance to see the real Alamo, in what is now downtown San Antonio.
Or for something lighter,
Anna and The King [of Siam]
or its musical version
The King and I
.
So many films, so little time ...

Hm, thanks for your recommandations
I got Max Manus, really loved that movie when i saw it the first time. Havent watched it in ages, dunno why. Been thinking about rewatching it for ages. Maby i should, The Heroes of Telemark. Never seen it, something i have to put on my list ofc! And when it comes to A bridge too far and The Bridge at Remagen, i was sure i had it in my collection
Thats embarresing. Thats two movies i have to order!
I love older US history. Just finished with Killer Angels (the book) a book about the us civil war. Really enjoyed that one. The Alamo i've heard alot of good things about. And i have to agree with you, i will have to say too many films and way to little time! I spend too much time at work i think!
hehe
