Which TV to watch?
« on: April 23, 2012, 01:39:27 AM »
Well, I'm offshore for four weeks so going on a TV show bender. Will only be watching films on TV or when rentals get out to me from Lovefilm, because I have taken TV sets with me only, no movies!

What should I make a priority?
24: Season 6
Bones: Season 4
Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Season 2/4 (will also watch 1/3/5 as own them also)
Dead Ringers: Series 1
ER: Season 4/5
Frasier: Season 6/7
Friends: Season 10
Grey's Anatomy: Season 1/2/3
The Hills: Season 3 (didn't bring as need 1&2)
Home Improvement: Season 6
Ideal: Series 1
It Ain't Half Hot Mum: Series 1
Lost: Season 2
Primeval: Series 5 (didn't bring this one because I need season 3&4)
Sabrina the Teenage Witch: Season 1
That Mitchell and Webb Look: Series 1
Transformers: Season 2.2/3&4
Twin Peaks: Season 2 (will watch 1 first)
Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps: Series 3&4
The X-Files: Season 4 (have 5 and 6 to rewatch also)

On order:
- 21 Jump Street: Season 2
- The Simple Life: Season 4
- Gavin and Stacey: Series 2
- Gun: The Complete Series

I'm just about to start on Dead Ringers: Series 1 so don't pick that;)

I would pick something new - not something you've already watched a few seasons of. So, from your list I would watch Twin Peaks and Gray's Anatomy.

Primeval is a no-no currently as I need to get Series 3 & 4. I picked up 5 for 99p and couldn't resist so I got that early.

Grey's Anatomy is a definate possibility (I got these from Kathy ).

Both of you said Twin Peaks though so next TV for me will be a rewatch of season 1 to refresh my memory.

Well, the list is preceded by "What should I make a priority?" and Primeval is clearly on the list :P (I did see your note about 3 & 4 though ;))

Just rewatched the pilot and episode 1 of Twin Peaks. It's amazing how much your memory comes flooding back quickly. This might finally make me watch Inland Empire which I've owned for years.

Can't even last a day ::) Got someone who is coming out tomorrow to stop by my pad and grab me some of my films.

What should I make a priority?
From the shows on your list?

Priority 1:
Get on the platform and watch the waves roll by until it's too dark, then raise your head and watch either the stars or the clouds until you are tired.

Should be more interesting.

I just told him to grab a folder so it'll be a choice of 504 movies. I've been putting anything in a regular keepcase into folders (with the covers) for space. I have no idea which ones.

There are some quality shows in that list. 24, Buffy, Twin Peaks, X-Files, ER, Frasier... Sure there is some tat (The Hills was a freebie, but I have no excuse for some of the others), but trust me, standing outside and watching the sea and the stars gets boring fast. :tease:

I never found X-Files, Buffy, Lost or 24 to be that good.
And since I know that these shows have a big fan-base here, I think it's better to go into hiding now.

ER was a great show, so were the first 3 seasons of Grey's (after this they found out that ER is such a great resource for new episodes).
It's been a while since I last watched Twin Peaks, but it was fun

I have postponed watching Twin Peaks for quite some time, mainly thinking it needs too much attention to be a quick after-work watch. I was hoping seeing you have a go will inspire me to do so myself. Of course, you givingup so easily is not helpful

Remind me, how many weeks of banishment is that worth?
