Triplets (2013) ----- Twins Sequel!
« on: April 04, 2012, 11:48:03 PM »
So apparantly, the official 'leak' by Universal about the long-awaited (?) sequel to Twins was not an April Fools joke. No director, screenwriter or cast yet but they hope the third lost brother would be Eddie Murphy.

An interview Arnie had with Coming Soon as had it's embargo lifted (interview from late 2011, restrictions lifted this week).
Quote
I would love to do another ‘Twins.’ As a matter of fact, we’ve been talking about doing one and it’s called ‘Triplets.’ I’d find somebody like Eddie Murphy or someone that people would say, ‘How does that happen, medically speaking?’ and, ‘Physically, there’s no way!’ Then, somehow, we would explain it. That would be hilarious with what we know about someone like him. I can see a poster…A billboard with us three. ‘They found another one!’ ‘Triplets!’ ‘Only their mother can tell them apart!’ I would do that in two seconds, because that’s real entertainment. You come out with that movie for Christmas, like December 5th or something like that, and you’re home free.

Murphy could do with a hit, and I don't care how cheesy it sounds I'd be well up for this.

Murphy did well in Tower Heist. The film was mediocre, but notable for him not being an obnoxious arse like most of his leading work for the past couple of decades! He could definitely do it. And it would be very silly, but in a good way. The original is a good hearted film. Not to mention, Kelly Preston looked phenomenal in it!

I liked Twins...it is a bit silly, but it is fun and entertaining.

I'm not sure how this sequel will work..especially with all that was established in the first movie.  Everyone said there were only 2 babies, Julian and Vincent.  So how did everyone forget there was a third brother?  Yes I know the original stretched believability.  I would just want a sequel to follow what was established in the first movie.
