Birthdays in Movies
« on: March 29, 2012, 11:09:21 PM »
Every year in May I try to watch a lot of Birthday related stuff through-out the month. Both Movies and TV Episodes. You may remember a similar thread that I did last year. But I got a lot of movies over the past year! So wanted to see what I can add to my list. I have a tag for Birthday movies now with the following...

- 13 Going on 30
- All-Star Superman
- Bloody Birthday
- Cheaper by the Dozen
- Child's Play
- City Slickers
- Frogs
- Full Frontal
- The Game
- Happy Birthday to Me
- Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
- House on Haunted Hill
- Identity
- The Indian in the Cupboard
- Liar Liar
- The Omen (1976)
- The Omen (2006)
- Sabrina: The Teenage Witch
- Street Tales of Terror
- Tower of Terror

Next I went to IMDB and went through the films through Keyword search. These I either haven't seen or just don't remember well enough to judge.

Keyword - Birthday:
- 16 Blocks
- Almost Famous
- The Birds
- Bridget Jones's Diary
- Bully
- Cinderella Man
- Confessions of a Dangerous Mind
- The Devil Wears Prada
- Good Will Hunting
- Gran Torino
- Green Lantern
- Happy Endings
- The Human Stain
- I Am Sam
- Imagine Me & You
- Iron Man
- Kicking & Screaming
- The Little Girl who Lives Down the Lane
- Marie Antoinette
- Million Dollar Baby
- Mirrors
- National Treasure: Book of Secrets
- Not Another Teen Movie
- Phenomenon
- Pineapple Express
- Problem Child
- Ray
- Slumber Party Massacre II
- Something's Gotta Give
- Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan
- Stay
- Sunshine
- Twilight Zone: The Movie
- Untraceable
- Uptown Girls
- View from the Top
- Zodiac

Keyword - Birthday Party:
- 21
- Batman Begins
- Bugsy
- Cloverfield
- Dead Silent
- The Doors
- The Graduate
- Knocked Up
- Ladder 49
- Léon: The Professional
- Little Man Tate
- Made
- Notting Hill
- Old School
- The Proposal
- Punch-Drunk Love
- Walled In
- Whisper

So should any of the bottom two list be considered? Obviously I don't want something with too little birthday content... but at the same time it don't have to be the whole movie. I think as long as it is more then 1 or 2 short scenes I would consider it.

Right now I have 20 movies I know I can watch... But what I am considering at this point... if I can find enough movies for it... get it up to 31 so I can ATTEMPT to watch 1 birthday related movie and 1 birthday related TV Episode per day for the whole month till my birthday (31st).

It has been a while since I last watched it, but I'm thinking the birthday is minor in Batman Begins.  I can't remember it at the moment, so I'm thinking it isn't a main point.  Though I could be wrong about that.

Keyword will be used very loosely. Like they mentioned someones birthday in dialog orthings like that.

There are two birthdays in BB. One where young master Bruce falls into the Batcave and the second when Ra's al Ghul is performing "Burning Down the House".

Yeah... that is what I figured... that is the reason I brought the list of movies here... to see if any of them is something I would want to use... hoping others would remember.

Cloverfield starts with a farewell, not birthday, party, which is what you have seen in the trailers.
In Léon: The Professional the birthday is a very minor thing, I can hardly remember it.

In Problem Child there is a more prominent birthday scene at some point, if I remember correctly.

Almost Famous, Somehing's Gotta Give, Iron Man, Mirrors, Phenomenon: No
The Game: Yes

Tony has a birthday party in Iron Man 2...can't remember a birthday being in the first movie.
Wait...Pepper's birthday is in the first movie.  Not a big deal, but it is mentioned a few times.

If you're trying to expand your numbers, what about films where someone is born? Brings in Freddy Got Fingered and Ben-Hur.
