What are you watching?
« on: March 14, 2012, 06:38:20 AM »
I don't mean "right this minute."

What shows on television (not via DVD) do you typically turn to on a weekly basis?
I have a collection.
It can be found here.
No need to check it often.
I update it only twice a year!

Not a lot as I watch mostly our news network, but I watch most of the "reality" TV shows. Not that I find that great TV but I like the "God people are dumb" vibes and fun I get from them. So I never miss an airing of Jersey Shore, The Bad Girls Club, True Beauty, Rock of Love, Charm School, America's Next Top Model, Tool Academy, ...

The downside is that we got dub version here (and by French from France :yucky:), but I'm mysteriously attract by those trashy show

BTW The Bad Girls Club isn't that bad if you want to see a lot of girls fight and some of the girls are attractive (you can even recognized some of them...)

My focus is mainly on real-life dramas and cartoons. This ends up meaning a whole lot of reruns usually, but since I am most of the time not actually watching the television but using it for noise, reruns work just fine.

- Ben 10: Alien Force/Ultimate Alien (looking forward to the new series next season)
- 48 Hours, Cold Case Files, FBI Files, New Detectives, etc.
- the DC Comics series' (Batman: TAS, Justice League, etc)
- Generator Rex
- Hoarders
- Law & Other series (all of them up until the last few years)
- Mythbusters
- Unchained Reaction (new series next week I'm looking forward to, created by the same people as Mythbusters)
- Young Justice

The "reality" shows that I enjoy are The Amazing Race (I've had a connection with one team in three different seasons) and Undercover Boss. I can't stand shows like Survivor and Big Brother where they stab each other in the back and your winning depends on what others think of you. I also can't stand the shows like Jimmy just mentioned. I can see that stuff live just by going to a friend's in-laws home and watching them and the neighbors. Except for Deadliest Catch, I'm not a fan of any of the 100 other "reality job" shows. I have watched almost no sitcoms in over 10 years.

I used to watch the local news but lately I don't even turn the TV on and I'll check the local news online. I don't watch any TV shows at all anymore - too many commercials and most of them have been political.  :yucky:

I've been bringing DVDs to work and we often watch a movie or two or several episodes of a TV series.

My niece bought me a kindle but I don't like it. I still like to pick up my $1 hard cover books at the thrift store and there's been some really good ones lately. I think everyone likes their kindles and have been leaving the books for me!

That's why I watch so many reality TV. Nothing political in that and they are so funny to watch, the more over the top they are the better they are... Hard to not laugh when you see a bunch of loosers fighting for Daisy De La Hoya

Don't like that too, just too tiresome for my eyes and I love to hold a book in my hand ;D

I haven't watched TV in about two years, except some random stuff when I am in Germany.

I once go myself HD TV (HBO, and a bunch of other channels), thinking I could watch some stuff there and as a result buy less DVDs. Didn't work

Watching my movies and playing games does't leave me enough spare time to read books again, but I think I'll get there in a while.

I don't watch TV shows until they've been released on DVD.

We started to watch the series Supernatural at "work". We've only seen a few episodes but so far it's been good.

Oz was the last series I watched - one of my favorites.

I like a lot of old TV shows. A few I like: Barney Miller, Taxi, Cheers, All in the Family, Magnum. P.I..

A few newer shows: Big Bang Theory, Dexter, Criminal Minds, NCIS, Shamelss (US version. I picked up the UK series but haven't seen any episodes yet.)

I've been watching this for the last few weeks. I just started Season 4, and I'm really enjoying the show!
