After a bit of a slump at the end of last month (moved house on the 24th), this month is off to a great start. 9 movies in 6 days, without going all out chasing numbers.

I was off to a flying start this month, but between Game of Thrones and real-life stuff, the feature-length viewing has taken a hit. True Blood: Season 4 arrives any day now, so until that's done, nothing is likely to change, apart from the title of the series being watched.

Don't get me wrong, I've had "screen time", but that's mostly been "crap TV" (aka whatever is on) and True Blood. There's definitely a part of me that wants a movie to win out against housework tonight.

Only 8 movies watched in June, but it's quality over quantity that counts, right? Although many of the movies I watched for the first time I won't watch again, I did have some great viewing experiences. I got to watch The Fox and the Hound in a cinema (replete with the girl in the row in front in tears and asking her daddy "Why?"), but the event of the month goes to Battleship Potemkin! The score was performed live in the premiere performance of the MetSO (Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra), with the composer in attendance at the beautiful Woodville Town Hall.

Not my kind of movie, and admittedly projected off a DVD, it was still an experience I didn't want to miss, and I'm glad I went.
