I watched 16 movies this month (was tempted to watch a second last night, but didn't). Most of these were first time viewings, including two I've been meaning to watch for ages (The Wasp Woman and White Zombie), both of which were in cheapy boxsets that I'll get rid of now (one I already have). External influences kept me from going to the cinema (had planned to see John Carter before it closes).

So what attracted you to Thor in the first place? Cracking film anyway! But it hardly surprises me you wouldn't like it!  :P

Sometimes it's relaxing to watch a movie you don't care about, like zapping through TV channels. And I didn't expect it to be *that* bad. Seriously, I'm retroactively declaring this the worst movie of 2011. Stupid story, shitty visuals - the few minutes with Kat Dennings in the beginning were the only bearable thing about it.

The "worst movie of 2011"? Absurd! It was great fun and worked as a kind of Marvel version of Superman II... hold on... do you like Superman II? Might not be a good reference point! Contrary to creating the worst film in 2011, in fact Marvel have yet to drop the ball on their Avengers series of films. I finally saw Captain America last night and while it is, as reviews have suggested, possibly the weakest (although it pips The Incredible Hulk for me), it is still... fun. Both films are bombastic and silly, which is just what you should want from a Marvel comics film. Honestly, what else did you expect and which of the films have you liked? I'm sure we already established it wasn't Iron Man.

Bombastic and silly? If only. Tarsem Singh's Immortals would fit such an description, and that I liked quite a bit. Might actually have been the reason I picked up Thor - you know, gods and stuff. Singh's film looked grandiose and stunning; Branagh had twice the money and it looked like shit - dull, and void of any imagination. Anyway, I don't want to go on rambling in the negative. Glad you could enjoy it, I scratch my head silently.

While I agree they are having a good run generally, I think Iron Man II quite the real stinker.

But, Matthias, I always expect little from these films, even inn relation to something like Kick Ass. The main appeal is setting the classic comics made flesh. Immortals I haven't seen, but it holds no appeal on that score. Have you ever read a Thor comic?

And Achim, say it ain't so! I really liked Iron Man 2. If the first was a rock star super hero, the second was the rock star stuck on drugs... :P

We discussed this before, I just didn't like the bit with him getting overly drunk and most other stuff just didn't connect with me either

Take a look at "Jack & Jill" (The Trailer should suffice).

You will have to rethink your declaration then.

Of those I have seen (list) is implied, of course. "Worst" is a deep, dark pit and nobody really aims to get to the bottom of it.
