New trailer:

I'm always intrigued by a new Scorsese movie, but a Scorsese family movie? Very intrigued!

there's another thread somewhere in which I talked about the book. It's a fantastic story and very much about cinema, so right up Scorcese's street. Still I worry that he has fallen into the trap of making it a bit gimmicky. If you know the book, you'll know it needs no embellishment.

Oh dear, Chris Tookey of the Daily Mail has rated this film with 4 stars review here.

He thinks it is evocative of Burton and Gilliam with family magic and gorgeous 3D.

As I have stated before that I can usually trust Mr. Tookey's reviews in that if he does not like a film then I do and the reverse also applies in that if he likes one then I tend not to like it. So do I trust this review of his and not see the film or do I go against my better instincts and watch it if the opportunity occurs?
