"Ask me a question:" The Game
« on: November 14, 2011, 04:32:41 AM »
Just something else to do. I ask a question, someone answers and then they ask another question.

The only rules:

1) It can't be about anything within DVDs or movies (eg: "Who is your favorite actor?") but can be more general (as in my first question.)

2) The same two people can't answer back to back (unless the game gets stuck.) There has to be a third person answering and asking to break things up a bit.

So, for the first person, what is your favorite brand of popcorn?
I have a collection.
It can be found here.
No need to check it often.
I update it only twice a year!

Christmas Eve.

This was the day my brother's ex-wife abandoned him and their 4 children, under the age of 6, for some guy she met online.

Although her new lover kicked her out 3 days later, and my brother won full custody of them, this day always bring back that terrible time.

Until that day, Christmas Eve was always a very special day in my family. Now I can't help but remember that terrible day.

I'll jump back in...

Answer: 16 years old, 1986.  A one and half month trip to Europe with my Father.  We flew into Amsterdam, went through Germany, all of Belgium, saw Bastogne and the Battle of the Bulge Memorial, then Luxembourg, then France.  Saw Paris, Barbizon and Fountainbleau.  Paris was the absolute best.  The Eiffel Tower and Champs Elysse..  It was the best month and a half of my life.

This isn't a dvd or movie but entertainment...

Question: What's your favorite book and why?

Not a single book, but they go hand in hand so well .. Heir to the Empire Trilogy (Heir to the Empire, Dark Force Rising, The Last Command) by Timothy Zahn.

The books take place about 5 years after the end of Star Wars VI: Return of the Jedi, and is about how the New Republic is rebuilding, mopping up the last remnants of the Empire, but Grand Admiral Thrawn has other plans.

I found it expanded really well on the established Star Wars lore, and to this day, is still my favorite series of book.

My tastes in food have changed over the years...I used to love steak dinners but don't get that much anymore.  I still enjoy chicken and dumplings...I didn't have that for years until recently when my brother's wife fixed it.  For now, that is my favorite.  Could it have been better?  Maybe if there was hot cornbread...

Ouch! :(  It's great to hear/know that you were entually able to walk again at all!

Answer: Bypassing what I would consider easier answers for me like "God" or "my mother," it'd be a guy that I met back during college; a roommate. Have you ever met a person who you instantly discover eerie similarities in your lives or interests that you just stumble upon because they are the kinds of things you never think to bring into discussion? That's us, right down to the weird stuff that makes people think we are both crazy (which we probably are.) He's my long-lost twin...... well, except for him being half a foot taller, twice my weight, much longer hair, etc. etc.

25
Old enough to know what life is good for and still young enough to really enjoy it.

In the event of a power failure, I would play with a cat if it weren't dark...or I'd play with my Nintendo DSi XL.  At least until it ran out of power.

Question: What was your first car?
