(I'm one to talk .. haven't reviewed anything in like forever .. though i don't watch much of anything these days .. don't think you'd want me posting my impressions of last night's late late show with craig ferguson every day haha!)

I wouldn't mind that at all.  I love Craig Ferguson and watch it too.

To be honest that doesn't represent if the film is or isn't good, it just shown that the marketing was well done or nothing really good start this week or it was shown on a tons of screens...

When a film irrelevent like Footloose earn $15,556,113 in its openning weekend for me it isn't impressive at all, it just represent how the young today are dumb, clueless and watch whatever is on the theatre...

I never said it did represent whether the film was any good, just that it was a good opening.

I generally agree with what you say, and yes, can also agree that people will go the cinema and watch anything, but a lot depends on what is actually available to watch. These days, it's hard to find anything at the cinema that is a not a sequel/remake/animated movie and Footloose currently is the most likely 'date' movie. I'm a fan of the original, and can't see Bacon being beat, but I won't pass any judgement on the remake until I see it myself.

Hell, if I owned a movie studio, I'd be remaking a classic horror into a generic, teeny-bopping remake right now. Forget integrity, it's all about profit. $$

I would too, but I would take something who wasn't done right the first time (by exemple Time Walker or Three on a Meathook) for monetary reason and give my 100% to make it works. I would never put my fictional cash on a project I would be ashamed of or make me feel dirty.

Anyway if I have that kind of fictional cash I would use it to restore adult films way before producing films...

Oh it's irrelevent now. It was in 1984 since the story was based on a small american city (Elmore City, Oklahoma) where dancing was forbidden untill a group of teenagers challenged the law in 1978. Now... it's just an excuse to show an untalented skank dancing with a cut t-shirt (just the trailer show how talented she isn't...).

As if I needed more reasons to not be interested by this americanisation... Guess the fact the Spielberg is attached to this brings the attention, he isn't a good director at all but he know how to cheat his audience without them noticing (no I won't go in a discussion on this as nothing good will result of this).

The capture is from a moment that when it was in the trailer, made me more determined to see this film than any other. The scene itself is breathtakingly wonderful, from Haddock causing the boat to be in that less than ideal position, the plane appearing on the horizon and attacking them, then the way it's resolved... Brilliant in so many ways.

Spielberg not a good director? HA! Please try and keep your arguments sensible. That is an absurd statement, even if you don't like his films.  but I would like to hear why you think that way.

That link is very biased. I already knew about The Guardian review and its already been dismissed by neutral observers as not being a balanced review at all. Unfortunately, even when I agree with them, I rarely read newspaper reviews, because they all have an agenda and I don't trust their reasoning.

Just to picky, Tintin was produced by Spielberg with a New Zealander, written by three Brits and acted by several more. Not very Americanized at all...
