:-[ Well, yes, it should have been WRUP and means exactly what Karsten said. Bloody ol' typo on my part.

Achim, you do know you're apologising for abbreviating the word "You" for a "Y", don't you? I mean, that's how it's spelt. Shush! Before the illiterate Internet hears U...  :tease:

You know there's a problem when Part 2 of a game is about to come out, and you've yet to finish Part 1 (Mass Effect).
I thought that's not supposed to be released until late this year? The recent trailer was merely a teaser...? But then, seeing the pile of unfinished games, it's not really about the time but quantity...

It is merely a teaser, but reveals an important development from the ending of Part 1...

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles: The Complete First Season

Original Title: Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles: The Complete First Season
Year: 2008
Country: United States
Director: 1. Pilot
Rating: NR
Length: 392 Min.
Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 1.78:1
Audio: English: Dolby Digital 5.1, Portuguese: Dolby Digital Surround
Subtitles: Chinese, English, Korean, Spanish, Thai, Other

What they say
The mother of all destiny. Her son, the future leader of mankind. Their protector, a Terminator from the future. Together they must take back the future as Sarah Connor (300's Lena Headey) prepares her son to fight the war against machines determined to annihilate the human race. The Clock is ticking. Can they stop Judgement Day?

My Thoughts
That was great! I loved it! I love the characterization of Sarah, John and Cameron - especially Cameron.

I can't judge the series in relation to the movies, simply because I'm a bit fuzzy as to the actual story of the movies, but nothing really jumped in my face as being completely out of whack with the known canon.

What I can tell, is that I loved the series. Lots of action, good characterization, some great "Terminator" moment. I can't wait for S2!

The Dark Knight: Steelbook Edition

Original Title: The Dark Knight: Steelbook Edition
Year: 2008
Country: Canada
Director: Christopher Nolan
Rating: PG
Length: 152 Min.
Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 2.35:1
Audio: English: Dolby Digital 5.1, French: Dolby Digital 5.1, Spanish: Dolby Digital 5.1
Subtitles: English, French, Spanish

What they say
The follow-up to Batman Begins, The Dark Knight reunites director Christopher Nolan and star Christian Bale, who reprises the role of Batman/Bruce Wayne in his continuing war on crime. With the help of Lt. Jim Gordon and District Attorney Harvey Dent, Batman set out to destroy organized crime in Gotham for good. The triumvirate proves effective. But soon the three find themselves prey to a rising criminal mastermind known as The Joker, who thrusts Gotham into anarchy and forces Batman closer to crossing the fine line between hero and vigilante. Heath Ledger stars as archvillain The Joker, and Aaron Eckhart plays Dent. Maggie Gyllenhaal joins the cast as Rachel Dawes. Returning From Batman Begins are Gary Oldman as Gordon, Michael Caine as Alfred and Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox.

My Thoughts
I'll be very original with my review of this movie.

It definitely deserves all the praise it gets. Heath Ledger as the Joker is M-A-R-V-E-L-O-U-S! Completely deserving of his Oscar. He completely steals the show for me, and that's saying something, because he's against Bale, Freeman, Oldman and Caine - which all give good performances in their respective role. But Ledger brings this little something extra to the Joker character.

I really like the the whole Batman reboot that started with Batman Begins. I like that real, gritty, almost real life feel there is to the new Batman. It's not all shiny and heroic. Even the heroes show some flaws, but will still make the right choice in the end.

Great movie, from beginning to end. Great actor performances. Great mood and atmosphere. Loved it!

Awww crap!

Back to the clinic for me.. The catheter is broken. I tried injecting tonight, and it wouldn't go in, and it hurts. So I called the emergency line, they told me to take my emergency oral dose (a capsule) and to go to the clinic first thing tomorrow morning.

Arghh! To think I only have 5 doses left.... Couldn't that crappy thing held until then? grrrrr!

Actually, I didn't think about it too much :-[ It's WRUP, but maybe I inserted the Y trying subconsciously to do it right

I'm currently watching La Job. A Quebec remake of Ricky Gervais' The Office.

While I like that they stay true to the original, down to the actual story, tone and presentation, they may actually be TOO faithful, to the point where it is entirely predictable to someone who saw The Office. And I must say, the casting is not all that great. The guy playing the manager just can't get anywhere near Ricky Gervais' wonderful delivery as that same manager.

I fear watching this Quebec-made version will just make me want to watch the actual thing!

But I'll admit, it's great for those of us here in Quebec who can't understand English, or won't even try to watch a series in its original language.

I like the German remake of The Office, called "Stromberg". Even though most characters can be recognized as rip-offs of the original The Office, the boss (the title giving Bernd Stromberg) is a fun new take on the character.

Then start with "Z" and tell those ignorant Americans that it is a "Zed" and not a "Zee" ;) ;D

La Job

Original Title: La Job
Year: 2006
Country: Canada (Quebec)
Director: André Saint-Pierre
Rating: 13+
Length: 360 Min.
Video: Widescreen 1.85:1
Audio: French: Dolby Digital Stereo
Subtitles:

What they say (Google automatic translation)
The world of work now has its own cult!

Who has never suffered the wrath of a careerist or the zealous fed an employee by the stiff routine? On the extreme realism, this TV will not leave one indifferent! Follow the characters both pathetic and endearing, which is the small team of Papiers Jennings Papers. With its acid and caustic humor, 'The Job' you will love to hate life office.

My Thoughts
This is an extremely faithful remake of Ricky Gervais' The Office. It may actually have been a little too faithful, and not adapted enough for Quebec's "sensibilities".

The casting is fine, I don't think the actors are the problem. I think it stems from the writers. They have watched the original too much. They kept the exact same themes, pretty much the exact same jokes, and of course the same tone.

So it's fine, but what's the point? The original is so tight and great, why remake the exact same thing? In a sense, I'm happy they redid it, instead of just dubbing the original. But then, the remake is so verbatim, it's useless. It's kind of like the same situation as Psycho.

So I can recommend it to someone who really can't understand english - but please, do yourself a favor, and get the original if you do understand english.

(that rating is harsh, but it is how I feel after watching this remake. There's a good, very positive point to all this though. It made me start to watch Extras! ;))

Little update on my situation (for those of you who'd like to know):

I went today for the followup visit to the doctor. The infection is healing nicely. The antibiotics are doing their job. The catheter is out of my arm (well, not really. I'm removing it tonight. Yes, I'm doing this myself. The doctor how, but then, how hard can it be? hehe), and I'm completing the treatment on oral antibiotics (capsules).

The swelling is way down, but there's still a little. But then, I regularly had swollen legs even before getting this cellulitis. I'm actually going to have to see another specialist about these lower limbs oedema.

The pain is all gone though, which is great news. The bad side of this, is I'm going back to work tomorrow. I had a great time just laying in bed, leg risen, watching movies (and sleeping too!)
