The Movies From Within My Lifetime

The Movies From Within My Lifetime
First I want to thank our good friend Roger for this idea. As soon as I heard this was a marathon he once attempted I knew I had to give it a go myself.

In this thread I will review 1 movie from every year since I was born. That would be 1969 to present. As of right now I have at least a movie to cover every year except for 2011. Which hopefully I will have covered by the time I get there. For most years I have plenty choices. I won't say what movie I will watch for each year until the time comes. As my mood changes too much from one day to the next.

I am expecting this to be a long running thread... this isn't something I expect to zoom through. But I hope to keep plugging at it till the finish line at year 2011.... before the end of the year 2011.

Wish me Luck!

1969
The year of my birth... Being fairly new to anything pre-1980 there is a good chance at me watching something I never seen before.

My choices:
Titles in Italic are from my Unwatched Pile
- Attack of the Monsters
- Blood of Dracula's Castle
- Destroy All Planets
- Dracula vs. Frankenstein
- Easy Rider
- Nightmare in Wax
- The Over the Hill Gang
- Topaz

- The Wild Bunch

Looking at my collection I could back to as far as 1938 to have a gapless marathon. From 1931 on my only gaps are 1932 and 1937. Prior to 1931 I only have two movies. One from 1922 and one from 1925.

Would you need to go that far back Tom? You would start with the year your were born. also can anyone recommend a decent movie for 2011 at hopefully a rather cheap price at this point?

I know, but your marathon got me curious which production years are missing in my collection.

Besides direct-to-DVD movies I guess it is too early in the year to have already proper 2011 movies released on DVD. Especially ones for a cheap price. I don't know of any.

That sound fun ;D
I think I could join you on this one (even if it will be hard to find something good for the last years) that will give me an excuse to stop being lazy and write some reviews

Do you plan to start it this weekend or this week?

So I've to activate myself to create my thread and choose something to watch tonight
Fine, I'll continue to listen the talking about our coming election and choose a 1970 (I'm younger than you :P) film to watch tonight.

I'd go with Easy Rider from that lot, Pete.

I was considering Easy Rider Hal... as I do want to see it... but I was in the mood for a horror. Though now I am a 3rd of the way through... I wish I picked something else.  :bag: :P

As far as I am concerned you can start whenever you like. I am just doing it as the mood hits. :)

Hal... I had no idea you were close to my mother's age! (sounds like older)... she was born in 1933.
