House, M.D. Canceled
« on: February 09, 2012, 01:25:41 AM »
The Fox series House, M.D. has officially been canceled. It is ending after an 8 year run. Not bad for a Fox series!  :tease: Now all I will have to do is buy the current season when released and I will have the entire run of this series in my collection.

I must say... while watching episodes of the current season... I am really not all that surprised. The show just isn't the same without Cuddy. And I really don't care for a couple of the new doctors on House's team this season as well.

[/Everybody lies.]

That's the thing about big change. A show is running 100%, then eventually drops to 80-70% because it's not "new" anymore. So they make changes to try and revive, but usually to the point of losing what made the show enjoyable in the first place and instead of boosting back to 100% like they expect time and time and time again (you'd think they would learn by now) it kills down to 20%.

That's what happened with Law & Order also after 20 years despite high ratings up until a few sudden changes in the last two seasons. Too many changes controlled or strings pulled by someone other than those who made the show great. Instant death.

I have a collection.
It can be found here.
No need to check it often.
I update it only twice a year!

Happen everytime by exemple when they add a new kid to a show for the cuteness factor....
Not that I have a clue for House as I never particullary like this serie, try a couple of episode but those hospital shows aren't my cup of tea.

I rather call it ending than cancelling, since it wasn't the decision of the studio or the network but the creators' and Hugh Laurie's.

I'm not too sad either. I like the show and I like the recent twist with Chase but it's not as enjoyable as it was in earlier seasons. But not because of Cuddy (I didn't really care for her) but for characters like Cutthroat Bitch and Wilson's glaring absence in the current season.

Stopped watching this after season 3 (when the original team changed), so I'm not too sad.

You should watch at least season 4. The new selecting process with Cutthroat Bitch is rather funny.

I agree... I always thought season 4 was a lot of fun with that new team selection process.

Good reasoning. I can get behind that.

It also means (thankfully, even if the episode possibly ends up sucking) that there will be a farewell episode rather than "poof... show's over*

I agree with others that you should see Season 4. I was good, right down to the surprising two-part finalé.

Funnily it was exactly this "selecting process" that completely turned me off.
When watching the first episodes of season 4 I was under the impression of watching a low budget casting show.  :puke:
