Going to see it tomorrow.
As you know I am a time-travel movie fan, so I am happy they doing a time-travel storyline. Though I am hopeful it is used more than just a means to get a young K and shortening Tommy Lee Jones's screen time.

I watched it Saturday night and was pleasantly surprised. While it was odd to have Tommy Lee Jones "disappear" formost of the movie (was he too tired and only did his small role for the money) Josh Brolin did a good job mimicking him.

When the credits came up and couldn't help but think how much better this was than MIIB, incl. a rather touching moment that was set up and executed nicely. But then Ethan Cohen's credits as Writed came up and things suddenly made sense

Except for a few brief moments I found Men in Black 3 highly enjoyable and rate it

I watched the 2D version.

I thought the first third of the movie was terrible. After that it was okay, but nothing really special. Why did they set up that J will have trouble fitting into the 60s as a African-American, only to use it for one bad guy-gets-pulled-over-because-he's-black joke?
The ending was touching but I thought it was forced in

I thought the first third of the movie was terrible. After that it was okay, but nothing really special. Why did they set up that J will have trouble fitting into the 60s as a African-American, only to use it for one bad guy-gets-pulled-over-because-he's-black joke?

I watched it with an Asian audience and I found that several of those "period" jokes were actually falling flat here. It is always trouble when a movie is overly location or time specific. That car joke felt way too forced.

I did not have any specific troubles with the first third myself. I can say that except a few bumps I enjoyed the film all the way through; maybe simply "for what it was".

Well, yeah, obviously there was a lot of coincidence going on here. But it's a movie and while all those coincidence can make it feel forced, it was very touching.

Im not a massive fan of the MiB series , the other half loves them!.This 3rd 1 does look promisin tho , so we'll be goin cinema to watch this when its out (or if its out already ,lol)

I liked it overall.  Most of what happens is predictable, though I so did not see the one thing happening. . .

Josh Brolin was really good as the younger K.  It was odd for Tommy Lee Jones to be gone, but Brolin is great in the part.  He's believable as the younger version of Jones's K.

What I found odd, during initial viewing and even more after having gone back and see the first 2 films, is how much they suddenly made K appear sad at the beginning as a setup for the ending. When looking back at the other two films he was never a real happy guy but that does not equal sadness! So, this too felt a bit forced.

At the very beginning he seemed normal I think.  Then he and J had to go deal with that satellite or whatever that had fallen.  But that was the arclight - or whatever it was called...I can't remember for sure now.  J probably recognized it since he was the one to deploy it.  And he heard about Boris the Animal breaking out of prison at just about the same time.  I took it that he was regretting how he handled things with Boris originally..maybe even feels like the planet is in danger from Boris again because of him and what he did or didn't do back in 1969.  With Boris getting free, I think it made K remember more of what happened when he caught Boris to begin with...including Boris killing the army guy.  I think K was more regretful about those things..though he probably was a little sad about Zed being gone even though he wasn't really showing it.  It seemed like K and Zed had worked together a long time.

I knew for certain the second Alternate Realities guy touched him. They made a mention of J's father earlier in the movie and the when that happened I whispered to my co-watchers that I'd bet that this is J's father.

When J got shot and travelled back one minute: Why was he not shot anymore. If time would undo things then J would have arrived in the past as the 5-year-old he was. And anotehr thing. After he dodged the darts he "hugged" the animal. Or did he try to wrestle him? I don't know, it was totally weird for a moment.

I don't know that he forgot it all exactly..maybe it was more like he put it behind him and didn't think about it, but everything with Boris makes him unable to not think about that stuff again.  Maybe.

Hmmmm.... Let me think a minute here..I hadn't thought about that before.  Only that version of J jumped back in time, the adult from now and not the child version.  It seemed sort of like he just ....rewinded that last minute so he was then able to dodge the spike things Boris was shooting.  But I have no idea.  lol  Hmm...The hugging was after he dodged the stuff?  I was thinking it was during the first time when he took Boris back that minute with him.  That he did that to push him off the edge.  Hmm..cant' remember for sure now.  Maybe he was trying to wrestle him some..not sure.
