Absolutely you should play through Portal first! For one, it is a wonderful game that deserves your attention. Second, the puzzles in Portal 2 so far seem easy enough, but they still respect a veteran, with fun touches only someone who has played the first one will pick up on. And finally, the story simply follows on. It isn't a story based game, but it's still there.
(click to show/hide)Actually, on the second playthrough, Shepard himself died!!
I have Portal 2; the PS3 version which I can link to Steam as soon as PSN comes back online (has been off since Thursday).
What's up with that? I was really looking forward to playing some CoD this weekend and that went tits up.

I was really looking forward to playing some CoD this weekend and that went tits up.Official information is, that it is an external "attack", while the error message when trying o log in simply refers to maintenance It's been four days already, I hope it resolves soon (I mainly play single player games, so so far I am o.k. myself).
I was speaking to a guy at work last night and he had heard that it will probably be down for this week too.
I mainly play online, but I figured that seen as I couldn't I'd have a bash some CoD4:MW campaign action.I'm about half way through, but if I've achieved any of the Trophies, I don't know as they're not active, without the online aspect, which is frustrating.
That is good music. I wonder though, just how many people watched all of this and how many pressed the Skip button no later than the 2min mark; three and a half minutes is pretty long...I amvery glad to have followed Jon's advice. I played up to chamber 15 last night; the one where you first... (click to show/hide)encounter the turrets...and have had a lot of fun with it!Last time I played this was February 2008. That was clearly at the time where I was still lacking the ability to properly coordinate the camera and movementns with the controller , which is why I miserably failed at the time. I am looking forward to finish this one tonight (I think) and then follow it up with Portal 2 right away.

Well, I read about hopes being quite high for Tuesday... Guess we'll see.If they have indeed been seriously hacked, then I guess fortifying the defenses before going back online is a good idea. After all, they hold many their customer's credit card information...

If not, let me tell you that CoD4:MW does not feature any trophies of any kind. Be it online offline or whatever Otherwise, all single player trophies can be collected now and will sync later.I understand though that there is actually a few games that are unplayable right now, because they use some sort of DRM which requires them to check back with the PSN
I think you're going to love the Faith Plates! They spring you up very high.
When you have completed it, take a look at the videos for Portal 2 they used to promote it. They're hilarious and you'll appreciate them more...
I don't dispute that suring up the defences is a good thing. I just dislike this lack of news or explanation about it going down. They have evryone's email address, they could've sent out a mass message informing people that there was an issue that was being looked into.
I wasn't aware that there were no trophies for MW1. So I get nothing for trying to find all of the laptops? That's pants.

Stephen Merchant's performance is brilliant! Loving the faith plates...QuoteWhen you have completed it, take a look at the videos for Portal 2 they used to promote it. I shall revisit them, I think you might be right, that now the will be received totally different...
Ahem. I just completed Portal 2. AWESOME! It's much longer than the first, the last section is fairly tough, though not as tough as the last level of the original, but the story is so well fleshed out. Goes in a couple of directions I wasn't expecting and is very, very satisfying. Also, one of the achievements involves finding a huge ship called the Borealis, which happens to be the vessel from one of the Half-Life 2 episodes. Plus, nearby, there is a poster on an office wall telling staff to watch out for the "orange jump suit" and a figure in said attire. Freeman fits the bill. I know there was a tiny ref to HL in Portal as well, but I really hope this means episode 3 is on the way.
Let me know when you're done and maybe we should try and set up one of the co-ops. I haven't seen the robots yet. Cracking new song at the end, btw; I take it you did listen to "Still Alive"?
