What are your favourite TV theme songs?

I've always had a thing about them, I've built up quite the collection over the years.

Some of my favourites include:

Happy Days
Raw-Hide
Full House
Speed Racer
Duck Tales

And I've had the theme to Growing Pains stuck in my head for the past few days. They are playing re-runs on TV at the moment.

Hmmm, tough to say "just like that". Would need to look at my collection or beyond to remember what's out there.

Two favorites are for shows I have never seen:
Rawhide (I only know the Blues Brothers version )
Mission: Impossible

Then there is
The Avengers
The Persuaders (? that show with Roger Moore and Tony Curtis)

I always liked the song from The Fall Guy at the time. Just now I watch Death Note (anime series) and like that theme song very much as well.

I like the one for Big Bang Theory even though it is short.  I liked the one from Friends fairly well.
Happy Days
Doctor Who :)

I know there are more, but this is all I can think of at the moment.

I love TV Themes, I have whole audio CDs with them.

My favourites are the ones from my 80s childhood shows, such as A-Team and MacGyver and so on.

But Rawhide is also high on the list.

Unfortunately newer shows only use title cards instead of intros.

Wow.... let's see.... some I remember liking back at the time but have no idea if I'd still like them today

- 6Teen
- The Any Griffith Show
- Cheers
- Friends
- Happy Days
- Highlander
- MacGyver
- The Monkees  (back then, not now)
- Night Court
- Pinwheel  (only when I was really little, but almost 30 years later I still know the tune and lyrics)
- Punky Brewster (back then; I don't remember now)
- Total Drama Island
- Xena: Warrior Princess  (more for the narration than the music, though)

I have a collection.
It can be found here.
No need to check it often.
I update it only twice a year!

One of my favourites is the theme from "Cold Case" (Nara/E.S. Posthumus)!

A theme I never liked but that's nevertheless burned into my synapses: Dallas (hell, I'm whistling it right now  :bag:)

Just like DJ Doena, I have entire CDs of TV themes.  Some of my favorites, arranged by genre:

Westerns
Rawhide
Maverick
Cheyenne
Gunsmoke (actually, the music at the end credits, it has a very short opening theme)
Bonanza
Lawman

Super-Heroes
Batman: The Animated Series
Justice League
The Adventures of Superman (mostly narration)
The Hanna-Barbera World of Super Adventure
The Flash
The Green Hornet

Various
The Brady Bunch
Gilligan's Island (even though I hated the show itself)
It's About Time
The Twilight Zone (especially the slower moodier theme by Bernard Herrmann)
Dragnet

I miss the theme song. Back in the day evey show had a good song. Now, so many shows now just do that quick blurb of whatever and that's it. I guess it gives them another 30 seconds of advertising time they can sell.  ::)

Current theme song favorites:
Chuck
Parenthood

Previous ones are to numerous to list.  :bag:

I agree, good theme songs are almost non existent these days. The last good theme song I heard was from an Australian mini-series called 'Very Small Business', its theme was epic!

One of the most unique and creative theme songs of all time I think is the theme to Garry Shandling's Show.

"This is the theme to Garry's show, the theme to Garry's show. Garry called me up and asked if I would write his theme song, I'm almost half way finished, how do you like it so far? How do you like the theme to Garry's show?"......  genius!
