What is your favorite...
Non-electronics activity? Archery, Reading, Walking.
Previously-visited location? Bali, Indonesia
Time of day? Twilight
Website not related to movies/DVDs? The Age.com, GameSpot, Veggie Boards (Vegetarian Forum)
Emoticon on this forum? I think the face on this one is cute: :celebrate:

If you could ________ who/what/where would it be?:
...Have something named after you...: A planet.
...Physically switch places with someone for a week (you would be that person)...: Jo Rowling
...Travel back in time only to observe...: Anytime before humans. I'd like to see nature before we came in and started to destroy everything.
...Change one thing about your current self...: Lose weight, gain fitness.

Do you...
Talk to yourself? I often talk to animals or even inanimate objects in a room with me as an excuse for talking to myself.
Sing in the shower? Only if I am playing music so loudly that I can't even hear myself.
Know how to sew or cross-stitch? I'm not even sure what cross stitching is, and I can attempt to sew, but it never turns out looking like actual sewing.
Rattle your fingers (like while you are bored) in the direction of pinky to thumb or from thumb to pinky? Pinky to thumb, if I try do it the other way it gets weird.
Own something that you don't know what it is but keep it anyway just in case you figure it out later? All the time.
Own an 8-track player? Nope.
Go fishing or hunting at least once a year?
Floss your teeth daily like dentists recommend? Nope.
Own anything that belonged to your great grandparents or further back? Don't think so, Grandparents is as far back I think.

Have you ever...
Been surfing/wakeboarding? Not wakeboarding, but I've surfed a bit before.
Injured yourself doing something you were told not to do? Broke my arm skateboarding. My Mum always told me not to because I will break my arm... well  :-[
Been noticeably electrocuted? I've seen a pretty large spark when I had an electric shock once, it made a nice loud crack to. Never a proper electrocution though.
Changed a tire? No.
Changed the oil in a road-based vehicle? No.
Lived in your home for a week or longer without electricity? No.
Stood on the edge of a mountain without protective railing? Yes.
Rid in a limousine? Used to ride in one all the time. My Dad was a limo driver so we took them out whenever he wasn't working.
Built something not from fabricated parts that required nails or screws? Yes.
Been severely injured? Not severely injured, worst has been a couple of broken wrists. But I have been severely ill, twice with pneumonia.
Sat or stood on the roof of a moving vehicle? Does a boat count?
Done something illegal just to see if you would get caught? (You don't have to say what it was.) I've graffitied peoples houses before, on their back fences with some friends, almost got caught.
Have you ever taken the blame for something you considered serious at the time that someone else did? Hmm, nothing too serious, just small things.
Unintentionally driven or ridden down the wrong way of a one-way street? Nope.
Done the Mentos and soda experiment? Yeah and nothing happened.

Random stuff:
What is the fastest you have ever driven in a car/truck/van (or ridden if you don't drive)? Only about 100kmph
When was the last time you bought the groceries, prepared, and ate a green salad at home? Almost daily.
How many relatives have you spoken with in the past week? Four.
What is one thing that you feel has changed for the worse about your country or the world as a whole in your lifetime? Global Warming and the stage that cruelty to animals is at. It just never seems to improve.
How do you like your steak cooked? Murder!
What is your typical attire? Comfy things, neat casual.
When you were little, what did you want to grow up to be? A Herpetologist
How often do you wear your seat belt? Whenever I'm in a moving car.
How many different items do you have in your wallet/purse right now? I have some money and a lot of different cards. About 20 or so.
When was the last time you rode a non-stationary bicycle? A few years ago.

This or That:
Global warming: real problem or over-hyped issue? Real big problem, only the correct term is the Enhanced Greenhouse Effect. Anyone who thinks it's a myth or over-hyped has been brainwashed and needs to study some environmental science and see the truth.
"Going Green:" helpful or money-waster? Helpful, but I don't think enough people will actually stick to it for it to make much of a noticeable difference.
Political parties: helpful dividers or hindering.Mostly hindering, no one ever listens to the few good parties anyway.
Sports: a difficult job worthy of the received pay or "it's just a game?" Just a game, a bit of fun, not worth all the attention and money.
Religion/Prayer: Foolish, I dislike almost all religions and what they do to people.
Disciplinary spanking: Meaningful, not over the top but needed at times so kids don't turn out feral.

You dislike most religions? I'm an atheist but not that typical kind that make it know to everyone how much they hate religion and being nothing but disrespectful to other people's beliefs. I find that to be a very ugly.
I like religion, I've always had a great interest in Catholicism and I have three good friends who are Catholics and they're are the nicest people.

It's true, I dislike most religions. The only one I don't outright dislike is Buddhism. I mainly keep my dislike to myself though, I don't go around ranting to religious people about how I find their beliefs stupid or anything, I just keep it all in my head. Also, this is coming from someone who went to a Christian school for 15 years, had to study Biblical Narrative and Religious studies for about 7, and who had to visit chapel once a month. Fat lot of good that did.

When I was in primary school we had Christian studies once a week from seven years. I didn't believe a word of it but I enjoyed parts of it, it was interesting.

I find some parts of the Bible interesting in a purely fictional way, the way I would enjoy any fictional novel like a Harry Potter book for example.

Now that several people have given their answers. . .

Question #50: Did you initially notice that there are only 49 questions in the survey?

Q: "Built something not from fabricated parts that required nails or screws?"

Some of you are very lucky. I really do wish I had some woodworking talent (or any talent for that matter other than the work I am good at.) I need to move away from my DVDs being spread in 4 different places (four different types of holders in places that aren't all so convenient but do stay out of the way at least.) For that, I need new shelving, but I don't like the idea of buying your typical box with boards in the middle.

I actually have a design that I know works, but again, without any skills (and likely no one I could find around here that wouldn't change me and arm and a leg to build it), it's just one more idea that ends up on my cutting room floor  :suicide:

Wait a minute.... Just because I answered yes doesn't mean I am very good at it or even have talent for it! I simply put yes because I helped my dad at some point, maybe, or did some assemply. By no means did the question ask me if I am any good...

Ha I agree with Achim here. Yes I have built something with nails or screws, but by the end of it I'm pretty sure no one, even myself knew what that something was. I think more accurate term was that I made a mess out of nails and screws in an attempt to build something.

Hence the word 'some' ;)

I actually had someone lined up to build it whenever he'd be able to find the time (he already worked himself to death... not much time for side projects) that was only going to charge me for materials plus $20.  He ended up moving 100 miles away before getting around to it.

That's how it goes sometimes, though (ok, a lot of the time!)
