I've grown up with a very balanced taste in music, I'm glad to say, thanks to my parents. My Dad was a huge country music fan and his favourite was Jim Reeves, Patsy Cline, plus The Highwaymen, apart or together; Nelson, Cash, Jennings, etc. So my attitude is, if I like what I hear, then I like it! Sounds obvious, but very odd in the UK where sadly music is like fashion and Country is the most misunderstood and ridiculed genre.
Anyway, my likes not in order except with the absolute very best band in the world ever topping the list...
Queen
Sheryl Crow
Texas
Brandi Carlile
Norah Jones
Foo Fighters
Oasis
Led Zeppelin
Meatloaf
The Mavericks
Bryan Adams
Bon Jovi
Green Day
Raconteurs
Random awesome songs (I would have posted Johnny Cash Hurt, but Karsten already demonstrated his exceptional taste. So, so much better than Nine Inch Nails).
Adele is a big lady with a bigger personality. Only 20-ish, with an infectious laugh. She's a riot in interviews. But all this just makes her voice all the more astonishing.
Never heard of her before she appeared on
Later With Jools Holland (best music show you could possibly imagine). The bridge in this song literally blew my mind. Really unexpected, especially as I had the volume ramped up a wee bit high. Her albums are more delicate and absolutely beautiful. Firm favourite in the Sheryl Crow mould.
Only heard of this lady a couple of weeks ago. Could be special. Compared to Karen Carpenter in some reviews.
Loved this! Real '60s vibe.
Arctic Monkeys couldn't be more British!
And some long standing favourites...
