When the series was originally on, at the end of each episode they had a prevuew for the next day's episode.  I always thought those were kind of exciting but those previews unfortunately are not on the DVDs.  I think my favorite episode is "Almost Got 'Im" which uses a game of poker where several villains show up and during the game they each tell how they almost did in Batman.  In that episode are Two-Face, The Joker, Catwoman, The Penguin and some guy who looks like he's made of rock.  Oh yeah, Harley Quinn is there, too.

From what I gather they stopped making them for a bit...then they made one more batch of them that I think were billed in advertising as The New Adventures of Batman and Robin or some such.  Those are the episodes in volume 4, though they used the same opening.

actually, I had to skim through the episodes to take my screen caps. I may be wrong, but from what I could tell the opening changed. At the least they had the "New Adventures of Batman and Robin" title in there, but that makes no sense to me if its just resuming a series.

Also, I think the guy "made of rock" was supposed to be the reptilian Killer Croc.

Well, I watched one episode from volume 4 recently and they still had the old opening...but maybe some other episodes had another opening?  I don't know.  You're right...Killer Croc was the guy.  I guess his "scales" made him look craggy and rock-like to me.

I know. I didn't figure it out until I hit the "Love is a Croc" episode. It took a play on words to make me realize. :slaphead:

I watched the first episode yesterday, commemorating Kevin Conroy (Batman)'s birthday, but I still hadn't set the pics how I wanted. Fiurst review will be up in a few minutes. :D

1. On Leather Wings
When a horrifying bat creature terrorizes Gotham City, the authorities conclude it must be Batman and put out an all-points bulletin on the Dark Knight. Meanwhile, Batman's investigation leads him to the laboratory of Kirk Langstrom, a prominent zoologist, who has been experimenting with a formula that turns him into the ManBat creature. Not only does Batman have to capture Man-Bat in order to save Langstrom, but also to set the police straight and clear his name.

My Thoughts:

A good starting episode. You see aspects of Wayne Industries, the Batcave and Batmobile. A nice opening joke with the butler, but it really was a pretty basic episode. You have a villain, a fight, and everything is ok in the end. Decent, but ordinary.

2. Christmas with the Joker
The Joker takes over Gotham's airwaves and terrorizes the city during Christmas. He's hiding in a TV studio, holding Commissioner Gordon, Detective Bullock, and Summer Gleason hostage. He challenges Batman to find him before midnight, or else the hostages will have a very un-merry Christmas

My Thoughts:

Now this was entertaining! Dick kept trying to get Batman to watch "It's a Wonderful Life", the old "Batman Smells" tune is here, all in all a fun, wacky, episode. Don't get me wrong, it was full of action too. Machine gun fires, chasing a train. I just think this was a very good mix of the two.  :)

Right now, I am having a very hard time getting to image of Batman with pie on his face out of my head.

Hey, Brit, do you evere check the voice credits?  You should...lots of famous people did guest spots on this and other DC animated series.  The Joker, for instance (in case you didn't know), was voiced by Mark Hamill.  Of course, you may already know that, in which case...never mind!  ::)

I think you are right!

But Britt... even if you don't know the name... you know who he is. He also played The Trickster (much like his Joker character here)... on the live action TV Series The Flash. If you remember right... we even talked about him voicing The Joker at the time of watching The Flash.
