There were only 2 other people in the theater tonight.  Much nicer than being in a packed theater...though it still wasn't bad Friday.

I still like the movie and think it is a good adaptation..but I do feel like a few things could have been handled a little better.

I actually love being in packed cinemas, but it is nice every now and then to see it in a nice quiet one with just a few people. I was thinking of seeing it in Gold Class eventually, as well as maybe one or two more times in a normal cinema. I have been listening to the soundtrack so much.

Marie have you watched the interview with JK Rowling when she was on Oprah? It's really amazing. And I mean really amazing. Two of the richest women in the entire world, both billionaires sit down for a chat and I can't stress enough how fascinating it was. Jo herself is in many ways quite awe-inspiring. She is extremely humble considering her situation and just listening to that wonderful women speak is like a gift, it's like every single word has been thought over and carefully chosen, yet it just comes to her so naturally. Her everyday speech in general is intellectual and inspiring in a way that few others are. Also, the interview itself felt less like an interview, and more like a casual conversation between the two as Jo actually kept throwing questions back at Oprah herself who quite happily answered. I honestly can't stress enough how amazing and inspiring this interview was to me, if you haven't seen it you should really check it out. The entire thing is on youtube.

I saw it..it is still on my DVR.  :)
I really enjoyed it too.  Some of what came Rowling talked about has been in other interviews I've seen, but it was still very interesting and well worth watching.
I'm sure I'll watch it again.

There was a programme on a couple of years ago that took Rowling back to her flat where she was penniless and wrote the first book. That was fascinating to see her reaction.

I don't know if you'll see it, but keep your eyes peeled for a show ITV did at the weekend. It's called "Behind the Magic" and I think they've done them for the other films too, but what I saw of it was pretty good, with interviews, etc. Maybe it's on YouTube... hold on...

Here it is! Well, part 1 anyhoo...

Thanks Jon, I try to watch all the behind-the-scenes that I can but I end up missing a lot of them sometimes. I'll check that out when I get home from work.

A part of the interview that I really got a kick out of was towards the end she was speaking of a girl who approached her in the street, and she said "she just bloomed out of the pavement in front of me, she must have apparated".  I loved hearing her just casually chuck in a magical reference like that. Also, I nearly cried watching the part about her mother, that was heartbreaking.

So I watched Harry Potter last night. In short:

I highly liked how they created the "calm before the storm" atmosphere and that the film to a big part concentrated on the character's interaction under the pressure. All three of the young actors showed what they learned over the past 6 films and put all that to good use here.

My favorite scenes must be:

The ending was actually way less of a cliffhanger than I had expected. Quite to the contrary, it was actually rather a great spot cutting the story in half and making a great starting point for the finale.

I have not yet read all the spoilers from the other posts but will try to dososoon.
