I just find it rather interesting that someone who clearly considers others to be narrow minded when it comes to porn, seems to be quite narrow minded themselves.
OK I will clarify why I've used the term "retarded" even if I don't see the need to do it. For me the people who consider sex as a sin are the same people who doesn't believe in evolution, lay bombs in abortion clinics, kill doctors working in familly planning center, picket the soldiers funeral with "God Hate You" signs, are against same sex mariage, ... For me this is the definition of retarded. I've no problem with anyone who doesn't like adult cinema for logical reasons.

Hope that you see the distinction for me and if you don't that's also fine also to me. No one is forced to agree with me, but I don't have to agree with anyone also...

I can't figure out where you are going with Pull the Strings? It makes me think of a puppet. ARE you a puppet? :hmmmm:

It's actually a quote from an Ed Wood movie.

And yes I am a puppet, at least I was until I became a real boy.
I was made by an Italian toy maker, I can't remember his name.

If you had said that people who "lay bombs in abortion clinics, kill doctors working in family planning center, picket the soldiers funeral with "God Hate You" signs" are retarded, then I might even agree with you.

But what you said is "...Sin because for some retarted persons watching XXX movie is a sin".  You said people were retarded if they felt that watching a "XXX" movie is a sin.

That's not even close to your "clarification" above.  Honorable (and perfectly intelligent) people can disagree on issues such as evolution and same sex marriage as well as a host of other questions of morality.

Calling them retarded is highly disrespectful, IMHO.

I don't really want to get involved with this but I find how easily both of you are using the term 'retarded' in a derogatory manner quite offensive. To me that's as bad as when people use the term 'gay' as an insult or a way to describe something that was horrible. Mental retardation is a very real thing for many people that cannot be prevented and I have been brought up in a way that I am quite uncomfortable around people using 'retarded' as an insult.

Haha don't let it get to you Kevin. One of the things that is great about this forum is off topic our threads can get. A thread can be started about one thing but end up about something else altogether. Of course the original purpose of the thread always remains. It's something that happens a lot here.

That's cool, I wasn't serious. I know what forums are like; I once caused uproar at an IMDB message board when I jokingly accused Pippi Longstocking of being a communist.

Sophie,

I apologize for repeating the use of the word.  I was only using it in reference to the original post that contained it.  It is an ugly word when used to insult.  That was the point I was trying to make.

No worries Hal, sorry if I sounded a little harsh but it's just a response I have to hearing the word. When I was growing up if I ever used the word retarded after hearing someone else say it my Mum would instantly tell me off. She told me never to use it in case one day a person who actually has retardation hears me and gets offended by it. Needless to say some of my Mum's little 'lessons' stuck with me quite a bit.

I don't know why I have such an aversion to the use of derogatory words...but I do. Whether it is racial, sexual or any other term used in that way they have always made me uncomfortable.

I know my favorite aunt used to speak out on the subject when I was quite young so that might be where my feelings come from. All I know is that I decided long ago not to speak in those terms and have tried to live up to them.
