Seems Germany is (as usual) a little bit late for cinematic releases.
But at least this time we seem to be better off than the English speaking nations.

So for all of you who enjoyed the books about the little French boy Nicolas as much as I did:

They finally made a movie about him
(German Trailer)
(English subtitles)

...and when is the Calvin and Hobbes movie getting made?

Thanks, the trailer looks funny. The cartoon looks vaguely familiar, but I am actually not sure if I read them in the past :bag:

Hopefully never!
I'm still shocked about those attempts on "Dennis the Menace"

...

Come to think of it: Calvin and Hobbes might work as an animated film.
But since Watterson never allowed any merchandising (in fact all Calvin and Hobbes merchandising articles available are pirated), I'm quite sure that this movie will never come.

If you want something to read that is like Calvin & Hobbes but not, well more like Calvin & Hobbes on PCP then give Barry Ween: Boy Genius by Judd Winnick a read

As the creator never allowed the making of an animated film, the closest we have to "proper" animated film is this short Robot Chicken skit:
