I loved that neither happened! It was just creepy under the surface, you know something is up, but the trailer ain't tellin'

I am excited about Blinky and Paul. Skyline made me be wary of Battle: LA (or so).

The Eagle looks like a sequel to last/this year's Centurion The second half of the trailer had me intrigued though (jamie Bell's reversal of role, not just the action).

The Mechanic could be fun and Green Lantern looked much better than I expected. Not sure what to make of Dead Awake.

Wow. Just... wow. That looks stunning. It could be clunky and obvious or profound. I'll settle for in-between with imagery like that.

Wim Wenders' film about Pina Bausch, who was one of the greatest modern dance choreographers. I'm a bit skeptical about the 3D thing, but this and Miranda July's The Future (no trailer yet) are already two reasons for me to attend the Berlinale.

That looks... clever and striking (I can actually see where 3D might work), but a huge amount of that trailer made me groan. Really not my thing by some considerable distance, possibly tapping into my dislike of musicals and inherent distrust of modern artists, choreography included.

Well, on this we couldn't be further apart. I was first exposed to Pina Bausch in 1987 when her company toured East Germany and it certainly was one of those redefining experiences. I had seen modern ballet before, but never anything like this. Back then, I was more into theatre than dance (and I still am), but suddenly there was someone who brought it together for me.

I'm guessing you never enter into the old "so bad it's good" end of the action genre?  There is absolutely no way in hell that Fast and Furious 5 is going to be "good". It will be cheesy fun though. Outrageous stunts, ridiculous characters... it's all part of the experience. The first one was at least a fair attempt at Point Break minus the talent and the point -pardon the pun- but it had a certain attitude and ripping off Reeves and Swayze's action classic buddy bro-mance carried it through. The sequel was terrible. Tokyo Drift was better but still terrible. Then came part four, with all the guff about "new model, original parts", but that's exactly why it worked (relative term). Plus it was fun seeing Paul Walker and Vin Diesel finally admit, this is the peak of their capabilities. They've stopped pretending and now they're having fun. So I will too.

Plus it's got Jordana Brewster in it.
