Just finished watching the first episode of this new series and really enjoyed it, Benedict Cumberbatch as Holmes and Martin Freeman as Watson were excellent in their roles and am now looking forward to the next episode

In complete agreement with you there. A great reinterpretation of the stories, though as with all recent BBC dramas, did you find the music just a bit too overpowering?

Good, of course. It means the composer did such a good job supporting the film that image and musinc became one in your mind. Bad music sticks out like a sore thumb and takes you out of the film.

I really liked it. My first instinct was to say "a policeman" but when I saw the cab I knew it was him. What I didn't understand was Sherlock's reasoning why it would be the passenger and not the cabbie unless it's not unusual to share cabs in London...

Production on series 3 has been postponed for several months because of The Hobbit (both Martin Freeman and Benedict Cumberbatch are in the movie).

I would have preferred Series 3 of Sherlock.

BTW: any news on Luther: Series 3?

You really just want to know how tht cliffhanger turned out :hysterical:

I m not sure though. I really want The Hobbit too, but not sure if that really needs three movies. Never read the book, but I know it's much shorter than the others. Let's hope Jackson didn't bite off more than he can chew.

I knew Freeman was in Hobbit...I didn't realize the other guy was too.

I have 2 of the new Sherlock episodes on my DVR...I missed the first one...grr...still have to watch them.  Sure I'll end up getting the second season on DVD or Blu at some point.

The cases are pretty much self contained each time, but there is somewhat of an overall ark to each season/series. So maybe you'll want to get hod of episode 1 before watching 2 and 3.

I did think of that...probably part of why I haven't watched them yet.  I loved the first series, so I'm sure I'll get this one too.
