From that link... "some single-take action sequences that might work if they were lit and choreographed with any finesse". Kind of sums up how I think of the director.

Sixth Sense was marvellous. And I thought the follow-up Unbreakable was very clever too. Signs had some great ideas, but it was there I realised; that lazy, steady pace from Unbreakable isn't on purpose! It just happened to suit the story, but Signs needed a can full of oomph.

I'm not a big fan of M Knight myself. I was unfortunate enough to see The Happening at the cinema, it was awful! The whole cinmea laughed the whole way through even though it was supposed to be... I think a thriller.

Also, Signs scared me a lot  :-[

That's the annoying thing about Signs. Some sequences were superb, like the glimpses of aliens.

That was what scared me the most, it was the little glimpses. Like when you see a fraction of the aliens leg in the cornfield. Or that creepy scene when it standing on the roof in plain sight... yet to see it properly you really have to pause it and have a closer look...:fingerchew:  :bag:

I really liked Sixth Sense..Unbreakable is pretty good too.  Definitely unique.  I also liked Signs...Village has some moments..The Lady in the Water...or Lady and the Water...whatever.

I haven't seen The Happening.

Hmmmm, so all this thread did was shatter my interest in the movie but pique my interest in the TV series. :headscratch:

That's a good thing Achim, the cartoon is amazing. It takes a few episodes at the start to get into but once it gets on it's feet it's really a fantastic ride.

Is there maybe a movie I could start with...? You know, to test the water, rather than buying a whole season from the start.

Unfortunatly no. They made a film out of the last four episode of the last series but if you watched them it would spoil the rest of the show.

There's always (and I hope Jimmy doesn't read this)
But if you aren't sure you could always watch one or two of the first episodes online just to test the water. And if you like it then you can buy the DVD.

It's a good cartoon, very much like "Western Anime" in many ways.

Achim, if you want to test it you can but the first season in volumes which contain about 4 episodes.

Unfortunately the series has its fair share of boring filler episodes more so in the middle series because they wanted to drag it out a few years.

As for M Knight, I liked the Happening it was supposed to be a B movie not a serious thriller, he said during production that he didn't want people to take it seriously.... I think it looks and acts like a B movie and I enjoyed it. The sixth Sense was ok, but I loved Unbreakable the first time I watched it... But,

I have no idea why I like it because generally id have found a film like this boring.
