I jumped the gun and watched the first movie for the marathon tonight. Wish I had chosen something a bit better  :-\

Oh so you're in the same mood as the referee at the world cup, handing yellow and red cards all over even for minor stuff? I see..  :hmmmm:

Does that mean I'm suspended for the next marathon?

O' course not. <witty comment here> :bag:

I kicked of my marathon with some light entertainment: The Muppet Movie. Except for some bits and pieces I had never seen this before and am certainly glad I did now. Besides the amazing puppetry it has some witty dialog and a load of cameos. Nothing for pete though, since they break out in song more than once. It stretches a bit near the end but that doesn't really impact the overall impression too much.

I started off with 'Ronin', a very good choice, if I say so myself.  Posted a review and was surprised that no one else had reviewed this movie yet.

Polished off two during the night, as I couldn't sleep, Harold and Maude and Yojimbo.

So where are all the reviews?   :tv:  I thought some would be in this thread.  I like several people posting in one thread...I never know whose review I will get when I check in.  I haven't written any myself...I won't be able to until very late tonight...or maybe tomorrow night.  I haven't even decided on my # movie...I have a few choices where the number is at the end of the film rather than the beginning.  If I can't find any I haven't reviewed yet where the number is at the beginning, I may do that.  After all, it's not against the rules...since there are no rules...  :P

I don't know about the others, but I was planning to add my review to my thread, link to them from my list in the main marathon thread, and mention here that I've watched something.

My Thoughts:
I have bought this movie because it completes my collection of SRK/Kajol movies (I think). The plot is very similar to Om Shanti Om, a recent SRK movie. Also here someone is killed and is reborn to take revenge some thirty years later. Only here it was brothers instead of one man. And this movie is much more brutal. The revenge consists of killing all of the villains involved. About a third of the movie consists of fist fights, and another third consists of songs, which were not bad, but sadly without subtitles. I think they would have had interesting lyrics.
I noticed something, which was done a lot an earlier Bollywood movie (this one being 15 years old is one of my oldest): Blatantly taking something from a Hollywood movie. Here it was the Terminator theme, which was playing a lot in some of the fight scenes.

What's wrong with the first 40min? I remember liking that quite well, especially the way Scarlett is introduced. But it's been a few years since I've last seen it.  :hmmmm: Maybe time to rewatch it.
