I bought this sight unseen based on my love of everything "Stargate", and have mixed feelings about it. I also found the "body jumping" concept rather disconcerting especially when it included hopping in bed with the "body" of a complete stranger.
I can't believe someone hasn't just shot the Rush character. He's a complete jerk!
Although there would be some power struggling going on if something like this should happen (marooned millions of light years from earth), over time, I would expect everyone to actually pull together for the common survival of the group, but these people just don't seem to grasp that concept. Having the "military" automatically be "in charge" also bothers me. It seems that under these circumstances, that people are just people and the "military" structure would quickly become superfluous as you determine what skills each person has and how they can best contribute to the survival of the group.
And finally (and I know I'll get blasted for this), I really have a problem with the producers apparent need to "update" Stargate to current day mores (or lack thereof) by having a lesbian relationship with the tonsil-seeking kissing scenes. I'll watch other things if I'm in the mood for that; they just didn't need to include that for this otherwise great franchise!
