I doubt it will for me.  That bit in Up with Carl and Ellie gets me every time.

Now I really wonder what it is with this movie... :headscratch:

I rewatched this yesterday and did the same uncontrollable sobbing I did the first time I saw it, at the exact same scenes (obviously, I guess). BUT, what really shocked me was today, when I watched the special features (excellent stuff yet again, Pixar are awesome). I even started to get emotional when they showed the particular scenes in the background or even talked about them with only pictures on screen. :slaphead:

Toy Story 3 for your consideration!

Sorry for digging up this old thread, but I felt the urge to share this.

I understand.  Just thinking about those scenes gets me.

It really is a wonderful movie.

No need to be sorry. :)

Achim, did you hear the segment on the podcast where Mayo could hardly read out an email from someone relating his thoughts on Toy Story 3? He said later he was digging into his palms so he didn't lose it. I they also compared it to Winnie the Pooh which apparently has a killer ending that is guaranteed to reduce any adult to a blubbering wreck...

Yes, I remember that segment well. Kermode wa particularly troubled by the Winnie the Pooh bit.

(I haven't missed any of Mayo's and Kermode's shows for the past two years...)

Yesterday I was watching the Audio Commentary with PiP on disc 2; very worth listening to, by the way. Same thing happened  This must be the most emotional film I have seen in my life  It will be interesting to see if the A aren't can get over the fact it's animated (although there is strong competition to begin with...)

Ack...why did you have to say that about Winnie the Pooh??
Oh well..I'll just take my tissues with me again.  I hadn't heard any references to the ending before...but now I have an idea of what might happen.  If it is that...well...that would do it.  It already makes me sad thinking about that being a possibility.

Are you talking about the film? I have no idea about how that will end, but the comments were specifically about the book. It may end in the film the same way, but don't be surprised if it doesn't.

No, Mayo and Kermode were very clearly referencing the book, sorry if that was cinfusing before.

Since there have been many Winnie the Pooh films in the past, I doubt they'll follow the book to the ending...

BTW, Kermode did point out, that I found the ending to be stronger for grown-ups (just like Toy Story3), as they would have a point of reference, as opposed to kids.
