Something seems to be wrong with the referee's at the World Cup. There doesn't seem to be any basis to thier deliverance of well, these  :redcard:, and they seem to be throwing them out left right and center.

I have to agree. I'm not an expert, but it sometimes looks for me like the referees are acting somewhat arbitrarily.

I used to believe that referees and umpires were unbiased. But, I've begun to wonder if there isn't something funny going on. Some of the calls that they make are so obviously wrong that it doesn't seem to be a case of innocent mistakes.

My colleague complained about that today as well. "His team" (Italy) apparently lost two point due to a "bad" ruling of the referee.

Not that I care.

OK it's a bit old - but I just saw it this morning and found it really funny! Poor guy!

To paraphrase our good friend Sherlock Holmes
Quote
when you have eliminated all possibilities, whatever remains, however impossible, must be the truth?

Here's the only possible explanation for that infamous goal (USA?) against England:

Well, we're winning 1-0 at half time and actually playing well. Nice of the team to show up. Just hope we keep hold and win so we go through.

So Slovenia is out?

But only because you scored in the dying moments. Our win guaranteed us to go through. Kind of hoping Germany doesn't go through now, else we'll be playing them. :-X

Why? I don't care if Germany goes through or not. And even if I would care, I would take this statement as a compliment, as he seems to consider Germany to be a difficult opponent.
