I've never watched soccer and I don't plan to watch now.

I'm an endangered species this summer. I really do not like bloody football! And it's a UK obsession. :-X

You're not alone brother.

Why don't you propose to record the games. So you could spend more time with the family and they can watch the games later!

I may not like football per-se, but I do like a lot of what goes on around it - like the drawing I posted from ESPN - Karsten's team strategies ....

and this ad for channel two

Christ, what is that noise in the background? It sounds like the Arena is infested with swarming bees.

That's definitely it!!!!

Looks like I'm going to have to watch it with the sound turned off. What an annoying freaking sound!

I had the exact same problem, I turned it on last night to watch a bit of the Opening Ceremony but I couldn't even hear the bloody thing. The noise of those horns was so overbearing that I couldn't actually hear any of the performers in the ceremony, and if I tried to turn it up I just turned the sound of horns up. After about 10 minutes of this I just had to turn it off, the constant drone was giving me a headache. I don't mine hearing the crowd but really, they have certainly lost the balance with this one.

Holy crap that is an annoying sound.  I already feel on the verge of a headache just after that clip.
