Tom's Unwatched Movies Marathon
« on: June 01, 2010, 08:02:41 PM »
If I do not watch a movie shortly after receiving it, chances are that it ends up in my "unwatched" pile for a long while.
So I thought I open up a different kind of marathon thread to help me out finally watching some of these movies.

I will list my unwatched movies here in my first post (and I will update it from time to time), and you can request a movie you want me to watch from this list. I will try to watch at least one requested movie a week.

BUT there is a simple rule to it: Each member is only allowed to request one movie at a time. That means, that you have to wait until I have watched your requested movie before you can request another one. Or you can withdraw a request and replace it with another one.

That's not so easy, you have some great bollywood movies. Maybe a seperate marathon?

But well, here's my vote: The Bucket List (2008)
Great actors in a heart warming movie!  :thumbup:

BTW: Your links do not work for me:

http://www.imdb.com/tt0825232 -> does not work
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0825232 -> works

I see you have some serials...I've seen those except for one I'm still in the middle of.  There's one movie there I've seen in the bargain bin a few times but I doubt I could find it now but I'd still like to see your review of it in case I ever come across it again...

The Thing Called Love: Director's Cut

Who directed that anyway?  Is it a director I've heard of?

Peter Bogdanovich. I don't have anything else directed by him.

There's a few too many romantic comedy for my taste. One that sounds interesting and gets my vote is: Relax... It's Just Sex .

Bogdanovich is a very intelligent and brilliant director, but he doesn't have a huge output and even less are known. His most famous, and deservedly so, is The Last Picture Show.

He's better known as a film historian and crops up in lots of documentaries, especially on Orson Welles (I think he did a Kane commentary too?) and Hitchcock, who he was close to and interviewed, I believe. Tom, if you watch any of the extras on the Hitch discs, you'll see a lot of him.

What am I saying? You barely watch the movies, never mind the extras! :tease: :devil:

I think I have several films in which Bogdonavich does commentaries for...maybe even a couple Duke Wayne westerns if I remember correctly.  I'm not sure if I have any films he directed but the name is very familiar to me.

Ah, yes, I think he's done a fair bit on John Ford at least.

I need some back up on the Bollywood front. I am the only one reviewing Bollywood movies so far. I'd like to read some reviews written by other members here  :yu:

To be honest, my English is not sufficient to write reviews. I'm totally dependent on translation tools like http://dict.leo.org To write understandable reviews would be a torture for me and the readers!  :-[ :-[

Another thing I'd like to mention: How did I get in contact with Bollywood?

My wife started it.  ::)

After a while I was really amazed:

- beautiful people
- lot of music
- great landscapes
- heart warming stories

:slaphead: of course!

And narrated by Welles, too. Keeps his friends close... ;D

For me... Gone with the Wind... need to see if it is worth investing almost 4 hours of my time into it!  :P
