Hey Everyone...
I need some help talking some sense into Brittany. For the new people here Brittany is my 14 year old daughter. She is also a member of this site under the name addicted2comics(:P)

Today she brought home a permission slip to go on a school trip on this coming Thursday. It is a trip to the local mall to see the movie Just Right. Here is the trailer...

Looks like it could be a good movie.

Anyway... the trip is because she earned Honor Roll in the 3rd quarter of school this year. She gets free access to the movie. All she would have to pay for is any snacks she may want while there. Which is of course easy enough. But for some strange reason she is saying she don't know if she wants to go or not. Saying she don't know if she wants to see this movie.

Here is my points on the matter Britt...

- You worked hard this year. You earned this.
- Even if you don't think you would like the movie... it is better then sitting in school all day!

I will also take this moment to say I am really proud of you Britt. You amaze me on how well you do in school.

Be really proud, Pete.

My daughter is 14 as well - not all days with her are like sunshine. Anyway I'm proud of her (and my son)!  :D

BTW: Shall I ask my daughter to join this site? She loves House M.D. and Navy NCIS  :P

Tom

First: Congratulation, Brittany!

I am sorry, Pete, but I cannot help you here. I am not sure if I would want to go watch a movie starring Queen Latifah, even if somebody paid me to  :P
The trailer didn't convince me otherwise.

Well... I felt the site was safe enough to let my daughter join! :P so why not?

I love NCIS! it is one of my favorite shows! The only thing Britt likes about it is Abbey... the Goth forensic scientist.  :P

Yeah... the trailer didn;t really impress me much either... but hey... it is a free pass from a full day of school! I would have taken it for that reason alone if it was me. If nothing else a good hour and a half to 2 hour nap! :P

I wasn't buying your arguments until this point.

Dragonfire

While the movie doesn't look overly good, it doesn't look horrible to me either.  Of course I do usually like Queen Latifah.  I would go even if I wasn't that interested in the movie.  She worked hard all year..it will be a day away from school.  And she doesn't have to pay for the movie.  Maybe she'll even enjoy it if she goes.

Jimmy

I haven't wrote one ;)

It's the second time since november I watch it so it's a good sign I like it. I prefer the beginning but it's sure great TV stuff if it wasn't for the running zombies it would be a perfect movie (A zombie don't and can't act fast. Only an undead infected person can do it like in 28 days later or The Crazies).

addicted2dvd

Well... at least I am starting to see a couple people that thinks like I do!  :P

Yeah... Jimmy... I know what you mean about the fast zombies. I don't care much for them either... but I have gotten used to it I am afraid.

You might enjoy this article, written by Simon "Shaun of the Dead" Pegg. It works as a review of Dead Set and a quite brilliant history of the zombie in folklore and movies, as well as explaining why zombies don't run.
