Plot:

My Thoughts:

My resolution for this year is to work through my pile of unfinished season sets, which I had started to watch sometime in the last few years, but for one reason or another, I didn't finish it. This is one of those sets.
I am not sure why I stopped watching, but I enjoyed watching the rest of the season. Roswell was one of the first supernatural teen dramas in the wake of Buffy's success. Although it cannot compete with Buffy, I think it can easily compete with other such TV shows which came after it, like Smallville.
One of my favorite characters in this show was always Isabel (played by Katherine Heigl). She is the reason I always think of picking up Grey's Anatomy someday (even though I am not a fan of medical dramas). I have never seen an episode of it though. And as there are so many seasons now already, I am reluctant to start it now.
A guest appearence in this season (who I wouldn't have recognized if I had watched it years ago) was Jason Dohring (Logan from Veronica Mars).

It started of really strange and I was not sure if I would like it, but it got better and better. Originally I had planned to only watch this first volume now and the second volume much later. But now I am really curious how it will continue, so I probably will watch the second volume soon.

My Thoughts:

I heard about this series often, but I became really interested to watch it, after I had seen the Jim Carrey movie "Man on the Moon" for the first time.
It's main star is Judd Hirsch, who I mainly know as Jeff Goldblum's father in Independence Day. But the man who carries this series, is Danny DeVito. This role made him famous, and that deservingly so.
Also Christopher Lloyd (Dr. Emmett Brown from Back to the Future) is great as the ex-Junkie Jim.
The reason I first started watching this series was, because I was curious about Andy Kaufman's role in it. You can clearly see, that both he and the rest of the cast are not really happy to have his character there. He is just there because of the studio and because of the popularity of his character with the audience. I can imagine that this was the main inspiration of Ricky Gervais' character's sitcom role in the second series of "Extras".
To have Andy Kaufman do something different than his "Foreign Man" persona, they gave his character a split personality this season. This gave him the chance to be "Vic Ferrari" in a few episodes. Strangely this character fits more into the series than Latka.

My Thoughts:

I also really enjoyed the second half of this series. I can really recommend this series. Although I have read the manga in the past (and also the novel), for some reason I didn't enjoy them very much. Because of this I do not remember much of them. On the one hand the storylines did feel really familiar, but on the other hand, it felt like watching something new. Maybe the material is better suited as an anime (as I thought when buying these DVD sets), or I just didn't like the style of the manga, but I really enjoyed watching this series and makes me want to give the manga another chance. So I probably will re-read it soon.

My Thoughts:

This season started promising. Although not quite as great as the first season, I was enjoying it. But then I had the feeling that all involved were getting worn out making an action series and wanting to slow down. I have no problem with that, but I didn't really enjoy the storylines they were making then. For me it just didn't fit anymore. Added to that I didn't really like the Weaver/John Henry storyline. Her character just did not appeal to me, though the original idea involving her wasn't so bad. Also the Derek/Jessie was not that interesting. For my feeling Cameron had too few scenes. I also missed scenes with the group working together. Everyone had their own agenda.
The series picked up again towards the end, but never to the level of the first season. Contrary to the first season, which I already watched twice and could start watching again anytime, I think the urge to revisit the second season anytime soon will not be that great.
The last episode made me really worried. As it did go on they were opening up new threads one after another with the ending coming closer and closer. I was fearing that I will face a massive cliffhanger. But at the last minute with the last scene, it came all full circle for me and I think it was the perfect way to end the series. I am not sure if I would have liked a third season. I thought the last scene worked really great as a series finale.

This one surprised me. I liked it much better than expected. For one thing I never really liked Kareena Kapoor. But in this movie she was very likable.
Also this movie is finally again a romantic comedy similar to the classic "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge" than most of the recent Bollywood movies that I have watched.

My Thoughts:

Another Shah Rukh Khan (star)/ Aditya Chopra (writer/producer/director) collaboration. Those mostly are above average Bollywood movies. This one is no exception. I really enjoyed it. Newcomer Anushka Sharma also was a joy as Taani.
Quiet and meek Surinder takes on the task of disguising himself as the hyper and fun Raj to cheer up his new wife after a tragedy.
Many scenes are reminiscent of superhero movies where Surinder and has alter ego Raj are concerned.

My Thoughts:

A really great series. Also one of the first series which got a DVD release even though it was cancelled early on its run (stupid FOX). I am not sure if I should be sad or happy that there is only this one season. At least this way we got one perfect short season with a concluded story arc (thankfully no cliffhanger ).
Jewel Staite (Kaylee from Firefly) has a recurring guest role (Heidi, Eric's wife).
As I am currenlty also watching "True Blood", I cannot help to notice the many similarities between those two series. In both we have a female protagonist who can hear things others can't (the one hears animal figures talk, the other can read minds), a gift which makes others think she is crazy. And both are wearing a yellow uniform at their jobs. Both have a bartender in love with her. And both have a black best friend who is in love with her brother, and there is also a gay character in the main cast in both series.

After I have had watched "She's the Man" recently, I have stumbled across another Amanda Bynes movie: "Sydney White". As I had found it really cheap in a three movie set, I decided to buy it. The other two movies in this set I didn't really enjoy, but I liked this one. It's a fun modern version of "Snow White".
The dwarfs part in this movie is taken over by the "Seven Dorks", with a lot of familiar faces. Like Danny Strong (Jonathan from Buffy) and Samm Levine (Freak and Geeks). Another familiar TV actor in this movie is John Schneider (Jonathan Kent from Smallville, Dukes of Hazard) who plays Sydney's father.

My Thoughts:

As I recently watched and enjoyed two Amanda Bynes movies, I thought I revisit this one again. I haven't seen this one since I bought it about six years ago. I was a little bit disappointed then. I still think it could have been so much better. It is not the actors' fault though, but the weak screenplay. Amanda Bynes was very good here in my opinion. She saved this movie for me.

My Thoughts:

This movie was the inspiration for the remake "You've Got Mail". I enjoy both movies. I think this was the first movie that I ever saw James Stewart in (could be that I saw "It's a Wonderful Life" before this one though). He did a great job here. For anyone enjoying "You've Got Mail" I recommend checking this one out. You will find many familiar scenes here, which found their way into the remake. I can definately see Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan during the restaurant scene, so similar was it.

Plot:
Hearst College, Juwel am Pazifik: eine Zitadelle der höheren Bildung - mitten in grünen Hügeln und unter sich sanft wiegenden Palmen gelegen. Tatsächlich lernt die Studentin Veronica eine Menge dazu - den Kriminologie-Kurs ihres knackigen Professors besteht sie mit Eins, sie entlarct den Campus-Vergewaltiger, den sie schon in Staffel 2 jagte, und sie brilliert in einem Hauptseminar für Schnüffler, als sie zwei Mitglieder des Lehrkörpers plötzlich und unerwartet ihren Ruhestand im Jenseits antreten. My Thoughts:

Having read comments that the third season did disappoint a lot of people, I was pleasantly surprised that it was not the point with me. I enjoyed this season much more than season two. In season two they felt obligated to do another season-long mystery with Veronica in the center. For me it felt forced and uninteresting. In season three they instead decided to do two mysteries instead which spanned multiple episodes each. I especially liked the Dean's murder case.

My Thoughts:

The cover almost put me off buying this movie. But the synopsis sounded like I might enjoy it. And I am glad that I have bought it. I liked this movie.
It is about a guy, who broke two girls their hearts in the past. Now that he gets his heart broken, he feels bad and visits these two girls years later to ask for forgiveness.
I especially enjoyed the first romance. Mahi is a very sweet and cute character (second to right on the cover). She dreams about meeting her true love like in her favorite movie Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (a movie I also have reviewed). A fact which Raj exploits.

Plot:
It's definitely never too late to go back... and maybe find a happy ending.

Ryan Reynolds stars as Will Hayes, a 30-something Manhattan dad in the midst of a divorce when his 10 year-old daughter, Maya (Abigail Breslin), starts to question him about his life before marriage.

Will relates his romantic ups and downs to her, from girl next-door Emily (Elizabeth Banks), to the best friend and confidante, April (Isla Fisher) and the free-spirited Summer (Rachel Weisz)... three romances... three broken hearts. Maya puts together the pieces of her dad's romantic puzzle, she begins to understand that love is not so simple or easy... and Will realises that it's never too late to get a second chance in love.

My Thoughts:

Not a laugh-out-loud comedy, but a charming movie. I liked the frame story with Ryan Reynold's character and his daughter (played by Abigail Breslin from "Little Miss Sunshine"). Also the ending was the one I was rooting for
