I keep everything in alphabetical order, TV series, DVDs and Blurays. Films in a series always come after each other even if it clashes with alphabetising. My current collection is pretty small, it fits on 5 shelves of a Billy bookcase at the moment, so reorganising after adding a new title isn't that much of a problem. Plus, I like to see my collection take up more and more room as it grows. I agree about the cases and packaging, they are definately worth a lot to me, and sometimes I like to just stand and look at all the pretty colours  lined up :P

On a related note, how do you guys store multi-movie boxsets? For example, I have a Farrelly Brothers boxset containing 5 individual movies in their own boxes. Currently it's filed under F for Farrelly, but I'm considering getting rid of the slip case and storing the 5 movies individually.

Of course I let them in the box (sometimes they have nice artworks on them) and I place them wherever they fit on my shelf since I've no organization method. But I can find any of my dvd in less than 10 seconds...

Don't go full Nerd!

Keep the slipcase, keep them under "F", if that's your system. Will you really struggle to remember where one of the titles is? I'd much prefer to keep them under the director, because that's a theme.

Mine aren't organised very tightly. Just roughly by genre.

You are very odd. Clinically so, possibly.

I resemble that remark, Emma is just a beginner and I will defend my position of double-dipperer to the end.

Ok, you're in a shop and you have a spare £5, browsing the DVD shelves. You spot a title you haven't seen before and you decide to purchase it... but then, you spot another title, one you already have... oh, but the cover is so pretty!

You'd actually buy the one you already have?
