I saw that Rich and Karsten own 17 Again. What am I missing?

Between you and me, I'd say not a lot. From what I've heard it's just a vehicle for Zac Efron, and therefore the target audience is... well... I don't know how to put this...

Miss Chanandeler Bong starrs in it. I thought I give it a try - and it was cheap.

And I like Leslie Mann  :drooling:

But see my review of this, I didn't enjoy it very much

Ahh, thought I missed a masterpiece disguised in a teenage comedy...

I even like some teenage comedies, but I've had no interest in seeing 17 again.

That's one confusing sentence...  :hysterical:

Oh no! I never want to go through teenage years again! I'm much more happy now at 30 than I ever was before!

   The Brothers Bloom (2008)
R1-CA Summit (Sep 22, 2009)

Rian Johnson's (Brick) second feature.
   I'll Take You There (1999)
R1-US DEJ/Two Left Shoes (2002)

Completing my small "Adrienne Shelly as a filmmaker" collection.
Brothers Quay: The Short Films 1979-2003
R2-UK BFI (2006)

Continuing to explore the Quay Brothers. According to Amazon UK, the BFI release of "Institute Benjamenta" should have been out today, but the BFI website suddenly lists it for April 2010.
   Eagle Eye (2008)
R2-DE Paramount (Mar 27, 2009)

No excuse, except that Amazon had listed "Trucker" to be released today, but that seems to be wrong as well.
   Possession (FR/DE 1981)
R2-DE Alive/Bildstörung (Nov 6, 2009)

I've actually seen none of Zulawski's movies so far, only an old TV production from the '60s.

 Looks like you finally you finally gave in to Michelle's charms in Eagle Eye!  ;)

Looking forward to your comments on Brothers Bloom after I really enjoyed Brick. I looked it up, but worryingly it got a showing at the LFF last year and hasn't been seen since with seemingly still no UK distributor secured.

By the way, have you been following the Alphathon? That's my new name for it! Anyway, two recent films I saw I couldn't help feel you might enjoy: In The Mood For Love seems almost obvious, but The Hustler caught me a little off-guard. There's very little to it, bit it's unusually told...

I hadn't bought an action flick for some time now, so it's probably okay. Still, I'm miffed about "Trucker", although I expected the Amazon UK info to be wrong. Hopefully, at least Amazon.com is right - they list an R1 for early January 2010.

It's a bit strange. Compared to Brick, this is a big budget movie (20 million vs. half a million), yet it apparently had only a limited release in the US. So far, there is only a Canadian DVD for sale and an US rental.

I've read your review for "In the Mood for Love" (don't recall Hustler, though), but I'm afraid I will remain ignorant towards Asian cinema for the foreseeable future.

Argh. I meant "The Hunter". I'd planned to watch The Hustler before remembering that I wanted to concentrate on never seen where possible. So, Steve McQueen's The Hunter, not Paul Newman's The Hustler...  :bag:

I didn't realise you hadn't seen any Asian films. Ah, well. Bear it mind in case you trip over it one day. It might open the floodgates.
