From now on I will update this thread on my delivered purchases instead of the thread in the other forum. I think it is more personal here.
I also will write down the reason why I purchased a particular item (e.g. recommendation, fan of actor/director, favorable reviews, complete a series, always liked the movie).
Currently I have a big package on the way but it will take a while until it will get here. I have ordered some of my wishlist items which had a good price during the holidays.

A friend of mine has given me these two the day before yesterday:

The latter one ("The Polar Bear") is a german movie starring Til Schweiger. It's about a hitman who accidentally kills the wrong guy and has to run.

Today those two will arrive:

I got a package with the following movies:

  • Happy Accidents

This is a replacement disc for a time-travel romantic comedy I like. My previous release I had (Canadian release) is a disc which I could only play in one player so far and I do not have this player anymore
  • Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella (1957)

Blind buy: I like Cinderella stories and musicals
  • Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella (1965)

    Blind buy: See above
  • For Your Consideration

To complete the collection of mockumentaries by the Spinal Tab team
  • Meteor Man

A superhero comedy I saw years ago. Bought it because it was cheap
  • Once Bitten/Vampire's Kiss (Double Feature)
Blind buy: I think I put it on my wishlist because of Jim Carrey
  • Predator

I do not remember ever seeing it. Bought it to extend my collection of Schwarzenegger movies
  • Silent Movie

Being a fan of Mel Brooks I must admit never have seen this classic  :bag:
  • Smoke

I have seen it years ago.
  • The Visitors

    A funny French time-travel comedy
  • Just Visiting

I have never seen it. It is the US remake of above movie
  • Wish Upon a Star

    Blind buy: Body-swap comedy

Number of titles bought this year    Remaining Budget
12    $1891,07

Another thread that I had not seen  :bag:

I didn't get anything today but here's a list of what I received recently.

Always liked that movie, Penn and Fox both give a very good performance imo

Bought it for my Cate Blanchett Marathon

I've been trying to put my hand on those 2 movies for ages but they were both OOP, what a nice surprise when I found them both packaged in a collection edition.

Again for the Cate Blanchett Marathon

Same as above, I've seen this movie before and I found Giovanni Ribisi was excellent.
(click to show/hide)

Yet another Cate Blanchett movie but I have never seen this one.

I posted a review on this.

Another one that I had difficulties finding.

Amazon.ca Marketplace (cd_plus_com)

Amazon.de Marketplace (ch___marche_24)

For the last one I need some help from our German members. I think that it's more respectfull to leave my comment on Amazon in German, so if you can translate this I will appreciate.  :thanks:

Shouldn't that be "as announced" and "I'm completely satisfied"?

You can post it in english, most people that buy online are capable of reading english.

In german it would be:

Sehr schnelle Lieferung (sogar schneller als eine Bestellung innerhalb der USA), die Verpackung ist gelungen und die Ware ist wie versprochen. Ich bin komplett zufrieden.

It should be:
Sehr schnelle Lieferung (sogar schneller als eine Bestellung aus den USA), die Verpackung ist gelungen und die Ware ist wie versprochen. Ich bin komplett zufrieden.

Because Jimmy (AESP_pres) is Canadian and not US citizen ;)

I just think that it's a question of respect since the site is German.

I had it this way but if a german reads this he will think "of course it was faster than a delivery from the US" because the reader will assume that the buyer is a german.

So it should be

Sogar schneller als eine Bestellung von den USA nach Kanada

Today my sis-in-law paid me back some money she owed me... so I used that to place a small DVD order... I ordered...

Night of the Demons 2
For years, Hull House has sat in eerie silence - tales of its haunted past have turned into gory jokes - and no one really believes anything ever happened. But a special anniversary date is approaching...and, unknown to the local high school students, a horrorfest is in the works.

While most of the students at St. Rita's high school are excited about the "official" Halloween dance, Shirley Fennerty intends to party elsewhere. She and her rebellious cohorts are planning a wilder party at the abandoned "haunted" mansion.

They want fun...now they're in for the hell-raising party of their lives!

This one was a complete Blind Buy... I got the first part this past October and really enjoyed it so thought I would grab this one to go with it.

Stephen King's Thinner
Based on the best-seller, 'Stephen King's Thinner' stars Robert John Burke ('RoboCop 3', 'Tombstone') and Joe Mantegna ('Bugsy', 'The Godfather III') in a story of supernatural terror and a countdown to the ultimate payback. A 109-year-old gypsy, hell-bent on revenge, exacts a curse so shocking it compels its victim to gorge himself in an effort to avoid shrinking away to nothingness. With time running out and a torture so bizarre and powerful, even death seems a more likely option.

This one I have definitely seen before. I love Stephen King movies... and am actually surprised I missed picking this one up before now. Of course I am sure there is several others of his movies I still need to get. I really don't remember a whole lot about this one... just remember enjoying it when I did see it... so looking forward to checking it out again.
