I had to go over to the corner store this morning when I found we were out of eggs for breakfast. And to my surprise... what do I see... they had a small selection of used DVDs on sale for $0.99 each. so  I grabbed this one...

Year One
| Year: 2009 | 97 Min.| IMDb | Trailer/Intro

History was made...by these guys? Zed (Jack Black) and Oh (Michael Cera) are cavemen who stumble out of the mountains into an epic journey of biblical proportions. One's a bumbling hunter, the other's a gentle gatherer; together, they become unlikely participants in history's most pivotal moments. Directed and co-written by comedy legend Harold Ramis (Groundhog Day, Caddtshack, Analyse This), YEAR ONE is rude, crude, wildly absurd, deliciously tasteless and laugh-out-louf funny!

This 99 cents would have been better spent on e.g. rotten eggs

Had to go back to the store this morning... picked out 3 more $0.99 DVDs. Hopefully I did better this time around. :P I just got...

Mixed Nuts
| Year: 1994 | 97 Min.

'Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house, the only creatures stirring were a transvestite, a homicidal Santa, a serial killer, the staff of a suicide hot line and a very crazy pregnant woman.

New York Minute
| Year: 2004 | 91 Min.

Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen take their sister act to the next level with the delightful comedy New York Minute. Top student Jane Ryan (Ashley) heads to Manhattan for a college scholarship competition. Her rebellious twin Roxy Ryan (Mary-Kate) goes along to crash a video shoot. But anything can happen – and does – in a romp involving a pursuing truant officer (Eugene Levy), a smuggler (Andy Richter), hunkalacious guys (Jared Padalecki, Riley Smith) and the girls' realization that when the chips are down, a sister can be the best friend of all.

She's All That
| Year: 1999 | 95 Min.

An irresistible cast of Hollywood's hottest young faces star in this fun, sexy comedy hit about the power of attraction and the pressures of popularity!  Stung when his bombshell girlfriend abruptly dumps him for a TV celebrity, big man on campus Zack Siler (Freddie Prinze Jr. – I Know What You Did Last Summer) wagers with a classmate he can quickly turn any girl...even the school's biggest geek, Laney Boggs (Rachel Leigh Cook – Living Out Loud)...into the prom queen! He wasn't, however, betting on falling in love!  After an amazing makeover, Laney is transformed from nobody to knockout...but when she learns of Zack's deception, it could ruin any chance he had with his newfound dream girl! With a hip, modern soundtrack and a hilarious story that audiences loved, this great comedy is all that...and more!

[tom]6867445003898.4f.jpg[/tom] Misfits: Series Four (£8.93/€10.56/$14.41/Amazon.co.uk)
Continuing this series.
[tom]5051561028069.4f.jpg[/tom] Doctor Who: Revisitations 1 (£12.65/€14.95/$20.41/Amazon.co.uk)
As I feared, once I started to watch Doctor Who, I can't resist buying some older stuff. I thought I would start with the TV movie with the 8th doctor. But the single release of this movie is more expensive than this set where it is also included.
[tom]5051561030031.4f.jpg[/tom] Doctor Who: Revisitations 3 (£12.40/€14.66/$20.01/Amazon.co.uk)
After putting the first set in the bin, I checked out the other "Revisitations" sets and I saw "The Three Doctors" on that one. As I am curious about the "The [number] Doctors" crossover episodes, I thought I'd start with collecting those.
[tom]5014503261726.4f.jpg[/tom] Doctor Who: Bred for War: The Sontaran Collection (£11.90/€14.07/$19.20/Amazon.co.uk)
Bought because of the "The Two Doctors".
[tom]5014503245023.4f.jpg[/tom] Doctor Who: The Five Doctors (£5.70/€6.74/$9.20/Amazon.co.uk)
"The Five Doctors", of course.
[tom]5051561029561.4f.jpg[/tom] Doctor Who: Revisitations 2 (£12.89/€15.24/$20.80/Amazon.co.uk)
As I was already buying sets 1 and 3, I also had to get set 2, of course.
[tom]5014503188221.4f.jpg[/tom] Doctor Who: The Beginning (£8.68/€10.26/$14.01/Amazon.co.uk)
As I was already at it, I thought it is always nice to have the first episode of a series.

With these Doctor Who releases, I have at least one episode of each of the classic doctors, as far as I have seen :)

If you're on the hook anyway, I urge you to buy

Time Warrior: 3rd Doctor, 1st appearance of the Sontarrans, 1st appearance of companion Sarah-Jane Smith
Robot: 1st appearance of 4th Doctor, companion Sarah-Jane Smith
Genesis of the Daleks: 4th Doctor, companion Sarah-Jane Smith, first appearance of Davros, creator of the Daleks

Especially Time Warrior and Genesis will tie in nicely with your Series 1-4 set

Just FYI: "The Hand of Fear" is the last Sarah-Jane as companion story (4th Doctor).

I'm focussing on her, because she was (sadly, the actress died a few years ago of cancer) the companion they choose to come back for the reboot and even though I had never met her before I loved her in the episodes she was in.
