You do know that Robert Sheehan is no longer part of the cast in S3?
Yes, I am aware of this sad news.

While I thought he, or his character, was basically the best thing in the show, I pondered for a while but still decided to get it. From the blog I understood that they basically replaced him with a character that plays very similar (foul-mouthed and all). That seems a bit lazy, but I guess they wnated to make sure the chemistry of the characters remains. I wonder how the new actor will handle it...

Bear in mind I still haven't watched Misfits, but I am aware that the new actor is Joseph Gilgun. From what I know of the tone in Misfits, he's perfect. He's naturally gifted for comedy, but a good drama actor too, so he can create fully rounded characters. My mum watches Emmerdale, a Northern set soap, and he played Eli Dingle for a while. The Dingles are supposed to be rough and a family of thieves. Their storylines swing between farce and pathos and he could handle both (to be fair, this isn't unusual for our soaps; the acting standard is considered rather high, even if the storylines get repetitive and bogged down). Gilgun then popped up in This Is England (film, TV series and soon to be second TV series). Similar character in some ways to Eli, except it showed his skill for improv. But then he appeared in Harry Brown in a brief role, and my goodness he was brilliant! Although a small part, he made a big impact.

I always enjoy his work and his involvement has pushed me toward getting this series finally.

Hell yeah.  I'm determined to keep my expectations lowered as it surely can't top the ending of the first series. I thought it was superb. If this one just turns out to be shits and giggles by comparison, I'll still be happy.  ;D

UPS dropped off a package a little bit ago.  It contained one DVD set and 3 CD soundtracks.

The DVD set was the complete TV series of The Deputy.  It consists of 76 half-hour episodes on 12 discs.

The soundtracks include The Muppets and two of music composed by John Williams for Steven Spielberg movies: The Adventures of Tintin and War Horse.  I plan to see all 3 of these movies and have already seen The Muppets.
