Will do when I get round to viewing, although it may not be this month as I'm away to Las Vegas for 5 nights on Monday the 21st.

Lucky bugger! Been before? I have. I'd go back in a flash.

Nope this is a one milion per cent totally new experience for me. Only time I've flown previously has been on business, and all within UK. All previous holidays have been in UK. A group of us were planning to celebrate my 50th birthday with a week in Hawaii and then a week in Vegas but the plans fell through :( . So although I now had a passport I didn't use it until they changed the rules on internal flights such you now had to show proof of identity which included a photograph, my driving licence isn't valid as it is the paper type.

Discussing holidays with a couple of friends in the pub, earlier in the year, I mentioned the above and they decided that Vegas sounded like a very good idea and so the plan was put into motion which has now culminated in 5 nights from the 21st.

So I'm getting my first long distance trip in a Jumbo and first trip out of UK. Along with all the other bits 'n' bobs that go with a holiday in USA. Whilst we're out there we intend to do a helicopter trip around the Grand Canyon and I would like to try the Horseshoe Viewing Platform, or whatever it is called, and look down the canyon but my friends are both slightly afraid of open heights so that may not be achieved.

I am looking forward to it ;D.

You must do the helicopter trip over the Grand Canyon. On paper a flyover doesn't sound like great value, but it's one of the best things I've ever experienced, so don't miss out! I've known several people who went to Vegas saying, "yeah, yeah, definitely will" and then couldn't be bothered to leave the casinos.  :slaphead:

Speaking of which, Vegas itself can be daunting in terms of missing stuff, but we were lucky to be on a tour that did a very well managed trip around the key locations. Don't miss the Bellagio fountains or the Treasure Island pirate battle, and pop into the Venetian at night... they have a canal indoors with gondolas and trick lighting that convinces you it's day time!

South of Nowhere: Season One (Amazon.com)
It's Karsten's fault ;)
After ages of putting it on his Sakapo site, I get an email that they have finally dropped below the price that I was willing to pay.
