The package my friend sent me came today... I got...

The O.C.: The Complete Second Season
There's trouble as well as fun in paradise in this 24-episode, 7-disc Season 2 collection of the smash-hit series about the restless lives of Orange County's haves and have-nots. The romances of Ryan-and-Marissa and Seth-and-Summer go from very over to very on, Sandy and Kirsten face choices that could trainwreck their 20-year marriage, felon (and Ryan's brother) Trey gives Newport Beach living a try, Julie's past comes back to haunt her, and others with shady pasts and shaky futures join the scene. In the California beach paradise that is 'The O.C.', they do everything under the sun.
The Dukes of Hazzard
Any day the sun rises is a day Boss Hogg tries to hoodwink the Dukes and other folks in Hazzard County. Now he's scheming to grab everyone's land. Which means he and good ol' boys Boy and Luke Duke are going to be feudin' like tomcats stuck in the same barrel.

With the General Lee tanked up for car-crashin' action and with more laughs than a dog has fleas, this big-screen version of the long-running TV series is big-time fun. Johnny Knoxville, Seann William Scott, Jessica Simpson, Burt Reynolds, Willie Nelson and more help keep the pedal to the metal for 100-MPH laughs. Stars, comedy, spills and thrills –The Dukes Of Hazzard's got it all, y'all!
16 Blocks
From Lethal Weapon director Richard Donner comes “a hard-to-beat thriller” (Gene Shalit, Today/NBC-TV). Bruce Willis hits the mark as Jack Mosley, broken-down New York City police detective assigned to escort a petty criminal (Mos Def) from the precinct to the courthouse. The seemingly simple 16-block journey becomes a test of character for them when Jack’s ex-partners attempt to stop them. It’s the gripping story of how two men change each other during a tense 118-min struggle between life and death.
The Office: Season One
Steve Carell (The 40-Year-Old Virgin, The Daily Show) stars in The Office, a fresh and funny mockumentary-style glimpse into the daily interactions of the eccentric workers at the Dunder Mifflin paper supply company. Based on the smash-hit British series of the same name and adapted for American Television by Greg Daniels (King of the Hill, The Simpsons), this fast-paced comedy parodies contemporary American water-cooler culture. Earnest but clueless regional manager Michael Scott (Carell) believes himself to be an exceptional boss and mentor, but actually receives more eye-rolls than respect from his oddball staff. Entertainment Weekly calls The Office "smart and trenchant", and all six hilarious season one episodes are available here on DVD for the first time. The awkward silences in The Office will have you laughing out loud!
Antitrust
In a world where unseen enemies can watch your every move, who can you trust?  Ryan Phillippe (Cruel Intentions), Rachael Leigh Cook (She's All That), Claire Forlani (Meet Joe Black) and Oscar® nominee* Tim Robbins star in this fast-paced, sizzling thriller that crackles with "genuine intrigue" (Entertainment Today), "considerable suspense" and an "ingenious, stunningly cinematic payoff" (Los Angeles Times) you have to see to believe!

Young, brilliant computer whiz Milo Hoffman (Phillippe) lands an exciting and lucrative job at the world's largest computer company, N.U.R.V.  Handpicked by powerful C.E.O. Gary Winston (Robbins) to work on a project that will change the way the world communicates, Milo thinks he's found his dream job.  But when his best friend, Teddy, is brutally murdered and clues lead to N.U.R.V.'s involvement, Milo becomes obsessed with uncovering the truth.  With his cunning and beautiful girlfriend (Forlani) and a sexy programmer (Cook) to help him, Milo races to beat Teddy's murderers at their own cyber game.  But as they close in on him, he realizes he may be too late to learn the most important code of all: Keep your friends close.  Keep your enemies closer.  And know which are which before you're killed.

*1996: Director, 'Dead Man Walking'
The O.C.: The Complete First Season
Money and beauty are the key values of this Southern California coastal enclave. But from the moment troubled outsider Ryan Atwood (Benjamin McKenzie) moves in with the Cohens, all statuses aren't quo. Peter Gallagher, Kelly Rowan and Adam Brody play the Cohens, a family willing to give a newcomer a chance. Ryan's arrival triggers a Newport wave of peer pressure, love triangles, generational conflicts and more. Twenty-seven must-see Season One Episodes and Cool DVD Extras await. California here we come!
Almost Famous
Adored by critics and audiences nationwide, Almost Famous has been hailed as "the year's single most entertaining film!" (Roger Ebert, Ebert & Roeper and the Movies). Writer/director Cameron Crowe takes you on a heartfelt journey into the world of rock and roll in this "delightful coming-of-age comedy" (David Ansen, Newsweek). It's the opportunity of a lifetime when teenage reporter William Miller lands an assignment from Rolling Stone magazine. Despite the objections of his protective mother, William hits the road with an up-and-coming rock band and finds there's a lot more to write home about than the music.

This "enormously engaging" (Jeffrey Lyons, WNBC) film boasts superb performances by Golden Globe winner Kate Hudson, Frances McDormand, Billy Crudup, Philip Seymour Hoffman and newcomer Patrick Fugit. Featuring a classic rock soundtrack with music from The Who and Elton John, Almost Famous is "an utter delight from the first frame to fade out" (Lou Lumenick, New York Post) and a must-see for every generation.
Phenomenon
Hollywood favorite John Travolta (Pulp Fiction) stars in this acclaimed, uplifting story of an ordinary man transformed by extraordinary events! On the night of his 37th birthday, George Malley (Travolta) is knocked to the ground by a mysterious, blinding light and suddenly develops amazing mental abilities! With his newfound knowledge, George astounds everyone in town. But when his incredible powers cause even his oldest friends to turn away, George comes to realize that his wondrous experience has changed him and the lives of everyone around him forever. With an outstanding supporting cast featuring Robert Duvall (Something To Talk About), Forest Whitaker (Species) and Kyra Sedgwick (Singles) — don't miss this must-see motion picture event!
The Golden Compass
In a wonderous parallel world where witches soar the skies and Ice Bears rule the frozen North, one special girl is destined to hold the fate of the universe in her hands. When Lyra Belacqua (Dakota Blue Richards) becomes the keeper of the Golden Compass, she discovers that her world - and all those beyond - is threatened by the secret plans of Mrs. Coulter (Nicole Kidman). With the help of Lord Asriel (Daniel Craig) and a group of unlikely allies ready to stand at her side, Lyra embarks on an extraordinary quest that celebrates friendship and courage against all odds.
15 Minutes
Today, there are just three requirements for murder: the motive, the means...and the media. Robert De Niro and Edward Burns pack serious heat in this super-charged action-thriller.

When two Eastern European criminals decide that the fastest route to fame and fortune in the U.S. is infamy, they embark on a vicious, headline-grabbing killing rampage. Hot on their trail are a veteran homicide detective (Robert De Niro) and a young arson investigator (Edward Burns). Against a frenzied backdrop of tabloid TV and justice gone mad, they are drawn into the killers' explosive game of cat and mouse as the mean streets of New York erupt into a battlefield.

Co-starring Kelsey Grammer (TV's Frasier) and Melina Kanakaredes (TV's Providence), 15 Minutes is "a sheer adrenaline rush" (Movieline) that will leave you breathless!
Seinfeld on DVD Bonus Disc
Never-before-seen footage from the Seinfeld cast talking about being recognized in public.

The World Unseen (Amazon.co.uk)

Scorched (Amazon.co.uk)
Never seen it. But when I saw that it stars Alicia Silverstone and Rachael Leigh Cook, I knew that I had to buy it. And it also stars John Cleese and Woody Harrelson.
Tamara Drewe (Amazon.co.uk)

Being Erica: Season One (Amazon.co.uk)
Never seen it. The premise is kind of based on time-travel, so I have to see it.
Pillow Talk/Lover Come Back/It Happened to Jane (Amazon.co.uk)
Triple pack of some old movies. Never saw them. But I recently stumbled across Pillow Talk, which sounded interesting and I found it in this cheap triple set.

Scorched is a bit half-arsed plot wise and not as funny as similar comedies but worth a watch. I gave it a 3/5.

I don't think I mentioned this which I got last Tuesday...

That 70's Show: The Complete Series Stash Box

The box looks like the ones used to hold 45rpm singles back then and the cardboard disc sleeves have center holes in the front to make those look like singles.  This was an 8-season series.  It came with a miniature copy of the script for the 200th episode which I think was the finale and a small hardcover book which includes episode guides.  I'm into the second season so far.
